Student answer (Band 5.5)
Educating boys and girls in co-educational schools or separate in the single-sex schools has become a pensive concern across the globe nowadays while some people think that different genders should be studying in different schools. I agree to a small extent due many reasons which will be highlighted in the forthcoming fragments with a logical conclusion.
To commence with, while educating two different genders have various pros like children from different genders learn to cooperate with each other and also develop a sense of respect for each other. To elaborate it, studying in same schools of two opposite gender will also help them to understand their biological behavior and differences about each other which will support them to live happily in their future. In addition, it will also develop their communication skills and their way of interacting for opposite gender. For example, the students studied in joint schools are more likely to communicate with opposite gender than studied in single-sex schools. As a result, gender discrimination can also be expelled from our society.
Nevertheless, people who argued to this notion have their own views and believes such as cultural allowances. To write more, in many cultures and religions it is believed that it is not good for teenagers of different sex to live or study together as they are not so mature to know about their good or bad and it is also not comfortable for some students to study with opposite genders which bring them against the statement of studying together. For example, introvert students may feel uncomfortable in class and have loss in theirs marks in exams.
I certainly believe that there is no such bad omen for educating boys and girls together and people must treat them equally and encouraging co-education schools.
To conclude, there are several pros such as children from different genders learn to cooperate with each other, develop a sense of respect for each other yet some points supporting opposite statement can also not be ignored at any cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a position throughout, although the stance is somewhat underdeveloped. You acknowledge both sides of the argument, which is good, but the explanation for why you only agree to a 'small extent' is not fully explored. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of cooperation and the cultural concerns regarding maturity, but they could be supported with more specific, nuanced examples. To improve, ensure that your main arguments are fully expanded rather than just stated, and provide a more cohesive link between your personal opinion and the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'To conclude'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To write more' or 'bring them against the statement'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the connection between the second body paragraph and your final opinion could be smoother. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that the sentences within the paragraph flow logically from one to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'co-educational', 'discrimination', and 'introvert'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'pensive concern' (which does not fit the context), 'joint schools' (instead of 'co-educational schools'), and 'loss in theirs marks'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and avoid using words that you are not entirely sure of in a specific context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'educating... or separate in the single-sex schools' (incorrect preposition/structure), 'people who argued to this notion' (incorrect tense), and 'encouraging co-education schools' (incorrect verb form). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that your verb tenses are consistent throughout the essay.
