Student answer (Band 5.5)

Although across many demographics girls and boys are studying together in co-educational or mixed schools some individuals believe that studying separately in single-sex schools is more rewarding. As students get to know about other gender and discuss more often about different purpose while working as a team which benefits them the most, that is why i would go with the former view.

Research showed that a teamwork conducted by both genders have more wining ratio than having a team made by only men or women. Studying together from the beginning girls and boys can have the mentality to work with other gender so that in future they can easily get along with each other which will help them for brighter future.

One the other hand some individuals might not be able to interact with other gender easily because they completed their study in single-sex schools. For that reason they face difficulties when they enter in job market or where they had to work as a team. However, studying in a combined institution from early age benefit them to remove their shyness and anxiety at the same time to have a friendly relation which is crucial for their future.

Some people opine that it is rewarding for the students to study separately in single-sex schools as students can focus on their study more. But in my honest opinion i believe the disadvantages of studying together is negligible as compared to the advantages of it because it is crucial for building their future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task by presenting a clear opinion on the topic, supporting the idea of co-education over single-sex education. The writer offers reasoning and relevant examples to support their argument, aligning well with the task requirements. However, the development of ideas could be improved for greater clarity and depth. There are some points introduced, like the research on teamwork, which could benefit from further elaboration or specific evidence. Overall, the piece demonstrates a reasonable understanding of the task and presents a coherent argument. **Task Achievement Band Score: 6**

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

Coherence and cohesion are present, with a logical flow of ideas from one paragraph to the next. The writer uses linking words, such as "One the other hand" and "However," to connect contrasting views, although some transitions could be smoother. A clearer topic sentence for each paragraph would help guide the reader through the argument more effectively. The paragraph structure is acceptable but could be improved with more explicit connections between ideas to enhance overall clarity. **Coherence And Cohesion Band Score: 6**

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used in the response displays an adequate range but lacks precision in some areas, such as the phrase "more rewarding," which could be articulated more distinctly. While some appropriate terms are used (e.g., "teamwork," "mentality"), there are instances of repetitive language and informal expressions, such as "go with the former view." Additionally, phrases like "wining ratio" should be corrected to "winning ratio." Overall, the lexical choice demonstrates a fair level of competence but also indicates room for expansion and refinement. **Lexical Resource Band Score: 6**

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

Grammatical accuracy in the piece is fair, with several noticeable errors impacting clarity. Issues such as subject-verb agreement and incorrect use of prepositions (e.g., "that is why i would go" should be capitalized as "I") are present, which may confuse the reader. However, the basic structure of sentences is generally sound, and the writer effectively communicates their ideas despite these errors. The variety of sentence structures is somewhat limited, as many sentences are relatively simple. **Grammatical Range Accuracy Band Score: 5.5**

Overall feedback

Your essay presents a clear opinion and some good arguments in favor of co-education. To improve, consider enhancing the depth of your arguments with specific examples or studies to support your claims. Pay attention to grammatical accuracy, particularly with subject-verb agreement and proper punctuation, as these errors can distract from your message. Additionally, strive for more varied sentence structures and transitions to improve coherence and reader engagement. Lastly, work on using a wider range of vocabulary to express your ideas more precisely.
