Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is generally noticed that both gender students study in the same schools in most of the countries of the globe. However, some individuals believe that studying at single-sex schools is more beneficial for male and female students. I partially agree with this view because it would not a perfect approach
One main benefit of having separate schools for boys and girls can help to enhance concentration level of students for their study, especially for teenagers. When they have different schools, there will be no attraction with opposite gender in the class. Therefore, they will not fell in the love affairs and not distracted in the class.
On the other hand, in co-educational schools, boys and girls learn how to behave with another sex students. If they study at single-sex schools, they cannot learn about opposite gender. As a result, some problems may generate in the society when students take responsibilities.
I think that there should be a balanced approach. Children should study in same schools and classes till the grade of 8. After 8 standard there should be different classes for boys and girls so that they can be limited interactions in both genders.
In conclusion, although studying separately by male and female students have some benefits, the lack of interaction between boys and girls can arise new problems in the communities. I believe that there should be middle path so that they can benefitted from studying separately as well as together.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and provides a clear position, though it is slightly under the minimum word count. The ideas are relevant, such as the focus on concentration and social development, but they are somewhat under-developed. For instance, the argument about 'love affairs' is a bit simplistic and lacks depth. Furthermore, the suggestion of a 'middle path' is introduced late and could have been better integrated into the overall argument. Because the response is under the 250-word limit, there is a penalty applied to this criterion as the development of ideas is curtailed by the length.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the other hand', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion', which help the flow of the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'It is generally noticed that both gender students'. Referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall structure feels a bit repetitive in its phrasing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'both gender students', 'fell in the love affairs', and '8 standard'. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range of vocabulary. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and academic terminology, such as 'co-educational settings' instead of 'same schools' and 'interpersonal skills' instead of 'how to behave with another sex students'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'it would not a perfect approach' (missing verb), 'can help to enhance concentration level' (article usage), and 'can be limited interactions' (incorrect structure). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without missing auxiliary verbs.
