Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 84 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While you state a position, you do not provide sufficient supporting arguments or examples to meet the requirements of an Academic Task 2 essay. The response stops abruptly mid-sentence, preventing any meaningful exploration of the topic. To improve, you must expand your arguments with detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring you meet the minimum length requirement to allow for a full development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text lacks proper paragraphing and structure. There is a lack of logical progression because the essay is incomplete. Cohesive devices are largely absent, and the flow of ideas is interrupted by the abrupt ending. The lack of punctuation, such as periods and commas, makes the text difficult to follow and negatively impacts the overall coherence. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs—an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion—and use linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, such as 'seek education' and 'learn'. There are also spelling errors like 'DIFFEREND' instead of 'different'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To achieve a higher band score, you need to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to education and social development. You should also focus on using more precise words rather than relying on simple, everyday language. Expanding your vocabulary through reading academic texts will help you use more sophisticated terms in your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors and a complete lack of punctuation, which makes the text difficult to read. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and missing capitalization. The use of 'that s' is an informal contraction error. The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentence structures. To improve, you must focus on basic sentence construction, including the correct use of full stops, commas, and capital letters. You should also practice forming complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions to demonstrate a better range of grammatical structures.
