Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world, co-educational or mixed schools have become more popular around the world. However, some individuals argue that saparate education or single-sex schools can be more beneficial for both girls and boys. I largely disagree with this viewpoint. This essay will discuss my position with relevant examples.

To commence with, studying in mixed schools can be effective for boys as well as girls because they can build communication skills, share useful thoughts, and improve their knowlegde. To elaborate on this, students may feel nervous or shy, when they are communicate with different gender, so co-educational schools can provide better chance to improve pupils' skills. For example, a boy and a girl who are working on a same project may share their useful ideas with different prospects. As a result, students can get appropriate consequences and boost their knowledge by discussing ideas.

Furthermore, students may choose suitable partners for social activities according to their preferences and individual circumstances. To elaborate on this, girls may perform better than boys in some activities, and vice versa. This may create valuable opportunities for both genders in areas such as employment, sports, and education. For example, in a group project at university, a male student may have strong technical skills, while a female student may be better at communication and presentation. By working together, they can combine their strengths and complete the project more effectively. This experience can also help them develop teamwork and communication skills, which may be valuable when they apply for jobs in the future.

However, the biggest disadvantage is that studetns may lose their focus from their cirriculum because in the contemporary era, love and affair may become common. Therefore, parents might be affraid of their child regarding to misleading activities.

To conclude, although there are few disadvantages of this view, people can solve it by providing good sacraments and lessons about their live. However, the pros overtook cons because mixed schools provide better opportunities such as improve communication skills, teamwork, and gain knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The main arguments regarding communication skills and teamwork are relevant and supported with examples. However, the development of the counter-argument in the fourth paragraph is somewhat superficial; the mention of 'love and affair' is a bit informal and lacks depth. While the position is clear, the response could be improved by providing more nuanced reasoning for why the benefits of co-education outweigh the potential social distractions. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, but the depth of analysis remains at a mid-level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, though the link between the final paragraph's conclusion and the preceding counter-argument could be more sophisticated. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure supports the development of the argument effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary era' and 'individual circumstances'. However, there are several spelling errors ('saparate', 'knowlegde', 'studetns', 'affraid') and some awkward word choices, such as 'appropriate consequences' and 'providing good sacraments'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. A more precise and varied range of vocabulary would enhance the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While there is a good attempt at complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'when they are communicate', 'working on a same project', and 'regarding to misleading activities'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor slips throughout. The errors are noticeable but rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main points. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
