Student answer (Band 6.5)
Numerous regions around the world promote combined education of girls and boys as they have co-schools. However, a proportion of people believe that separate education is more lucrative. As far as my opinion is concerned, co-education plays a vital role in confidence building, inter-gender compatibility and provision of comparable level education. However, single-sex schools should be encouraged more where people acquire that for personal or religious constraints as the students would feel more comfortable learning in their desired environment.
As far as co-educational schools are concerned, students get vast exposure by interacting with the opposite gender. Boys and girls' thought process is distinct, their way of perception, and activities on practical grounds are contrasting. Subsequently, if they study together, there's a high chance that they will learn a lot in a diverse manner. Students would be capable of exchanging multifaceted ideas leading to build or enhance the confidence of both genders. For example, boys are more inclined towards physical sports in contrast to girls; so, girls can get substantial benefit in terms of knowledge and practice from boys in this regard.
A large portion of population is in favour of single-sex schools and come up with various advocates to anchor their stance. I fathom that some people feel more comfortable and self-assured when studying or working with the same gender in public or private spaces. Additionally, certain groups within society have religious and social restrictions due to with they discourage co-education. For instance, some girls have to cover their body and face when interacting with the opposite gender as per their religious teachings, they feel more content around same-gender individuals which should be taken under consideration.
Conclusively, while a large segment of population encourages co-education to enhance determinism, confidence and social comfort, some advocate for separate education for both genders due to certain constraints. I believe, everyone should be given a right to choose their mode of education according to their requirements and concerns.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that acknowledges the benefits of co-education while also validating the need for single-sex options based on personal or religious constraints. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the discussion on social exposure and confidence building. However, the explanation regarding how girls benefit from boys in sports is slightly underdeveloped and could have been more clearly linked to the broader argument of 'multifaceted ideas'. Overall, the response maintains a consistent stance throughout and fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Subsequently', 'Additionally', and 'For instance' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing in the third paragraph ('due to with they discourage') is grammatically awkward, which slightly impacts the fluidity of the argument. Nevertheless, paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate and allows for a clear expression of ideas. There is an attempt to use less common items such as 'lucrative', 'multifaceted', 'determinism', and 'anchor their stance'. However, some word choices are slightly unnatural or misused, such as 'lucrative' (which usually refers to financial profit rather than educational benefit) and 'advocates' (used as a noun to mean 'arguments'). Despite these occasional inaccuracies in collocation and word choice, the meaning remains clear throughout, and the range is sufficient to convey the writer's perspective on the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is a good attempt at using complex forms, such as conditional clauses and relative clauses. However, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'due to with they discourage' (should be 'due to which they discourage') and 'a large portion of population' (missing an article). Punctuation is generally functional, though some comma usage is slightly erratic. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication or cause difficulty for the reader, and the majority of the sentences remain clear and understandable.
