Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of single-sex education. However, the development of ideas is limited and relies heavily on anecdotal evidence rather than broader societal or educational analysis. The arguments regarding harassment and romantic distractions are repetitive and lack depth. While the position is consistent, the supporting points are somewhat simplistic and do not fully explore the complexities of the topic, which is required for a higher band. To improve, you should broaden your arguments to include academic or social benefits beyond personal anecdotes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often mechanical. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Therefore' and 'Another issue', but the transitions are sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Her parents decided that she should went to co education', where the connection to the previous context is slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a logical progression of ideas, often jumping between points without sufficient elaboration.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'problems'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'rubbish kinds of pursuits' and 'disaster of a student', which sound unnatural. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'co education' instead of 'co-educational') limit the score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('girls and boys... could leads'), tense errors ('she should went'), and awkward phrasing ('she was faced many significant problem'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with fragments like 'In useless activities.' appearing as separate sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb tenses before attempting more complex structures.
