Student answer (Band 5.5)

According to many people co-educational school is not a good thing, school must have to be the single-sex but Mixed school is the best way to remove the gender discrimination. it help to give same rights to both the gender and the uplift the girls development and education.

From our history the female have less rights then male. there are many discrimination with the both the gender so to remove this myth that the girls can not do certain task. for example the women can never be firefighter till the past few years but now the women can also work as the fire fighter and instead women can gone to the space and bring the many medals for there nation in the international level of the games.

if there are not a unisex school then the huge difference is shown in the level of education of the both girls school and the boys school, government take the massive steps for the girls education like in India there are only 43% of the girls are educated which rose by 45% in 2020 by the many different scheme from the Indian government for the girls education so the keep the same level of education in the booth gender unsex school is most important otherwise the girls get less educational benefits then the boys.

In conclusion of this topic mixed school is the very important to maintained the same level of education in booth gender and remove the old myths and discrimination of the gender.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favour of co-educational schools. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention gender discrimination and educational statistics, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the link between co-education and the specific examples of female firefighters or space exploration is not fully explained, making the connection to the prompt feel tenuous. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported argument that directly relates to the benefits or drawbacks of the school environment itself, rather than general societal progress.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the transition 'From our history' or 'if there are not a unisex school'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow of the argument is interrupted by awkward phrasing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next to create a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'good thing', 'big', and 'huge', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'unisex school' (when referring to co-educational schools) and 'booth gender' (likely meaning 'both genders'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to education and social issues. Expanding your range of synonyms and learning the correct collocations for common phrases will significantly enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the female have', 'government take'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, and punctuation is often misused. While you attempt some complex structures, they are frequently inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly. Proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and tense consistency will also help.
