Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding social skills and preparation for the real world are relevant and logically developed. However, the response could be improved by providing more specific examples or evidence to support the claims, as some points remain somewhat general. The introduction is slightly fragmented, and the conclusion repeats points already made without adding significant depth. Overall, the response is well-focused on the topic, but the development of ideas could be more nuanced to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'However' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, but there are minor issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the fragmented sentence structure in the introduction and the conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'eradicates', 'deteriorates', and 'curtail', which is positive. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'share same occupancy' and 'preventive layer'. Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'c9o-educational' and 'educati0on'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, it lacks the precision and natural collocation required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'co-ed schools provides' (subject-verb agreement), 'help them to built' (incorrect verb form), and 'contributes for' (incorrect preposition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be beneficial.
