Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, in many parts of the world parents are thinking that they want to educate their child in co-educational. I also agree with this statement and I will justify my viewpoints in the upcoming paragraphs with relevant reasons and examples.

To begin with, in the world there are many schools which is including co-educational and mixed. So, many parents think that if we educate our girl in a co-educational school their girl will feel safe and study well. Because sometimes boys are doing bad touches in the school and after school also girls are do not feels safe. But Boys and girls are also having their own choice if they want to study in mixed school they can easily do that. Mostly girls study in co-educational school in my country. Example in India mostly private schools are co-educational.

Furthermore, government also providing many facilities to girls in my country example books and school dress is free of cost for girls. Some parents are forcing their child to only study in separate school because they have fear in their mind if girls and boys study together they get disturbed also and making relationships also. In my point of view i prefer always co-educational school girls and boys have different thinking and they also enjoy when they study together.

In conclusion, mostly parents prefer separate schools and suggest their child also to study in separate school because parents feel safe. But in my country mostly parents and childs prefer for co-educational school.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether boys and girls should be educated separately in single-sex schools or together in co-educational schools, and a position is stated in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat confused. For instance, the student mentions safety concerns and government facilities in India as supporting points, but these arguments lack clear logical extension and connection to the core debate. Some points are repetitive and under-developed, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, and basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are employed. However, the overall progression of ideas lacks clarity. Referencing is sometimes confusing, as seen in sentences like 'Because sometimes boys are doing bad touches in the school', which disrupt the logical flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical, reflecting Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally impede communication or sound unnatural, such as 'bad touches' and 'making relationships also'. While the student attempts to use topic-related terms like 'co-educational' and 'private schools', the overall lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, aligning with Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and basic connectors. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, such as 'parents are thinking that they want to educate their child in co-educational' and 'there are many schools which is including'. Frequent grammatical errors, awkward phrasing, and incorrect verb tenses cause difficulty for the reader at times, consistent with Band 5.0.
