Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response is severely under-length, containing only 145 words compared to the minimum requirement of 250 words. This results in a heavy penalty for Task Achievement, as the ideas are left incomplete and abruptly cut off mid-sentence at the end of the text. Furthermore, the writer attempts to introduce the topic and state their intention with sentences like 'This eassy will explain about the right ways of educational to given to the kids at school,' but fails to develop a clear position or address the extent of their agreement regarding single-sex versus co-educational schools before the text breaks off. Due to the lack of development and incomplete nature of the response, it falls into Band 4.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into two very short paragraphs, and the second paragraph remains unfinished. While there are basic attempts at organisation, such as introductory framing and some use of transitional linking ('While some believe', 'For example'), the overall progression is disrupted by the premature ending of the text. Paragraphing is inadequate because the body paragraph breaks off mid-thought. Referencing and cohesive devices are basic and sometimes repetitive. However, the sentences that are completed show some basic logical sequencing, placing this aspect of the writing at a Band 5.0 level.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with several noticeable spelling and word choice errors that impede comprehension at times. Examples of errors include 'obatined' (obtained), 'eductaion' (education), 'childerns' (children), 'separtely' (separately), 'eassy' (essay), and 'togather' (together). The range is limited, relying heavily on simple words related to school and children. While some attempts are made to use slightly less common phrases ('significant role', 'supervised by their teachers'), the high frequency of basic lexical and spelling errors places the lexical resource within the Band 4.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, primarily relying on simple sentences with frequent basic errors. There are notable grammatical inaccuracies throughout, such as 'Education obatined at school plays an significant role' (incorrect article 'an' before consonant sound, passive participle misuse), 'schools conducts eductaion in equal gender' (subject-verb agreement error, awkward preposition), and 'the right ways of educational to given' (incorrect word form). Furthermore, the text ends abruptly in the middle of a structure ('students are taught with'). Because errors are frequent and basic sentence structures are often flawed, the grammar is reflective of a Band 4.0 performance.
