Student answer (Band 5.0)
In different parts of the world, mixed education which is also known as co-education is very common for girls and boys. Many people have an opinion that co-education does not gives many benefit as compared to single-sex institutes. I completely agree with this view because major part of the world's population practices a specific religion, and children in their growing age are more prone to do mistakes. But to some degree i am also not agree.
Firstly, more than 80% of world population follow their specific religion. Every religion has some limits and boundaries. The co-education is not considered so good every religion and in some it may be prohibited. That dose not make any religion looks bad. Actually, its a way of stopping the major sins such as adlutery before the age. For example, in America, all schools are mixed and it was reported that at least 39% of young women do abortion. So, its actually take part in adultry weather its direct or indirect.
Secondly, the children who are at thier growing age and experiencing hormonal changes, whether it is good for them or not. When they are at age of becoming adult, want to try new things and are more curious about everything. So, attented single-gender schools protects them form commiting such sins. For example, friendships between girls and boys are completely normal but after a certain age when they are more mature and serious in life.
In conclusion, the schools should be sepaarte for children in their growing age but they must have a good education on how to deal with the hormonal chnages at school as well as at home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear, albeit extreme, position in complete agreement with single-sex education. The writer attempts to develop ideas around religious boundaries and adolescent development. However, the arguments are somewhat under-developed and rely on generalisations rather than deep exploration. For instance, the claim regarding religious prohibitions lacks specific context, and the example regarding abortion rates in America is weakly integrated and somewhat questionable in its relevance to the prompt. While the position is maintained throughout, the support for the main ideas remains limited, which places this performance at Band 5.5. To improve, the writer should focus on expanding their arguments with logical reasoning and more accurate, directly relevant examples rather than relying on contentious statistical claims.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some logical organisation with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is hampered by abrupt transitions and a confusing shift in stance within the introduction ('But to some degree i am also not agree'). Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion of sentences and paragraphs is often faulty, with referencing not always clear (e.g., 'So, its actually take part in adultry...'). While there is a recognisable structure, the mechanical nature of the cohesive ties and occasional awkward sequencing keep this criterion at a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses a limited vocabulary range that is minimally adequate for the task. Words such as 'education', 'religion', 'children', and 'schools' are repeated frequently. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling throughout the essay, including 'gives' instead of 'give', 'dose' instead of 'does', 'adlutery' and 'adultry' instead of 'adultery', 'attented' instead of 'attending', and 'sepaarte' instead of 'separate'. These lexical errors and spelling mistakes occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'co-education', 'hormonal changes', and 'prohibited', the high frequency of basic errors prevents the score from exceeding Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'co-education does not gives', 'population follow') and tense usage. Punctuation and sentence boundary errors are also present, such as sentence fragments and run-on structures ('When they are at age of becoming adult, want to try new things and are more curious about everything'). Many complex structures are faulty, which frequently impedes smooth communication. Due to the high density of grammatical inaccuracies across the text, this response achieves a Band 5.0 for grammar.
