Student answer (Band 5.5)
Education of girls and boys in co-educational or mixed schools is a topic of debate across various parts of the world while some supporting the idea that girls and boys benefit from being educated separately in single-sex schools. However, i dont agree to this statement and i firmly believe that girls and boys should be taught in co-educational or mixed institutions. As a social beig who dwell and work within the boundaries of society, simly having education is not enough but to work and live with individuals irrespective of gender bias. Education imparted through a single sex schools will make children incapable of working with individual gender a difficult task to accomplise leading to worse results when working towards a goal with similar objectives.
Educational institutions not only imparts proper education to young childrens but also aids them in developing communcation and other interpersonal skills which is being needed. Boys and girls studying together will not only help them in work better in groups with improved teamwork and coordination but will also enable them to be mindful towards their behaviour, etiquttes for people of opposite gender making them a better person.
Students being taught in single-sex schools will render them to incapable of having proper conversation with individuals of opposite gender creating a air of awkwardness and lack of confidence while working in a team affecting their workplace decorum. Co-educational institutions not only help minimize this type of issues from arising but also helps them empathetic and respectful towards individuals irrespective of their sex.
To summarize the point, imparting education to girls and boys through mixed instituitions not only helps minimizing several social issues from creating but also makes individual confident about their existence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against single-sex schools and in favour of co-educational institutions. All parts of the task are addressed, and the main ideas—such as social skill development, workplace preparation, and gender mindfulness—are presented. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks specific, well-developed examples drawn from real-world contexts, which keeps the response at a Band 6 level. For instance, the argument that single-sex schools make students 'incapable of working with individual gender' is asserted rather than deeply explored. The overall stance is maintained throughout, but the depth of support is limited.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised, although the transitions between sentences and ideas can feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the use of 'To summarize the point'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in 'this type of issues' or when pronouns lack precise antecedents. Cohesive devices are present but sometimes overused or inaccurately deployed, leading to a choppy flow. Logical progression is evident in the general argument, but sentences within paragraphs do not always connect smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts at less common phrasing such as 'gender bias', 'interpersonal skills', and 'workplace decorum'. However, there are notable limitations and word-choice errors, including spelling and morphological mistakes like 'beig' for 'being', 'simly' for 'simply', 'accomplise' for 'accomplish', 'childrens' for 'children', 'communcation' for 'communication', and 'etiquttes' for 'etiquette'. These errors show a lack of precision, though communication is not severely impeded. The lexical range is sufficient for basic expression but struggles with sophisticated control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ambition with relative clauses and participial phrases. However, grammatical accuracy is noticeably weak. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation, such as 'while some supporting the idea', 'i dont agree to this statement', and fragments like 'Education imparted through a single sex schools will make children incapable...'. Furthermore, missing articles ('a air of awkwardness') and awkward phrasing ('which is being needed') detract from the overall control. These errors require the reader to occasionally pause.
