Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally and does not meet the required word count, falling short of the 250-word minimum at 227 words. While the writer manages to state a clear personal position regarding single-sex schools ("I strongly agree that girls and boys benefit from being educated seprately"), the ideas presented remain very limited and under-developed. The supporting points lack extension, relying on repetitive assertions about focus and freedom rather than substantiated arguments or relevant examples from the writer's own knowledge. Consequently, the discussion touches upon the topic tangentially without fully exploring the implications of co-educational versus single-sex schooling.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently throughout the response. Although paragraph breaks are attempted to structure the essay, the overall progression lacks clarity and logical flow. Cohesive devices are used very mechanically or are entirely inadequate, with repetitive transitions such as "In the comparision of co-educational or mixed schools" appearing frequently to patch sentences together. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like "While students go with this education", which disrupts the smooth connection of ideas and leaves the relationship between sentences difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, employing a limited range of words that are frequently reused, such as "education system", "single-sex schools", and "co-educational or mixed schools". There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including "seprately", "focusus", and "graduated" instead of 'educated'. These lexical errors and awkward word formations, such as "pupils are freedom", occasionally strain the reader and restrict the precision needed for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, relying primarily on simple sentence structures, while attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty. Errors are frequent across the text and can distort meaning or cause difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with verb forms and tenses, such as "it did not have a any kind of problem" and "it follows the same", along with problems with article usage, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement. Punctuation is also erratic, which contributes to the choppy feel of the sentences.
