Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays world, many countries provide education through co-educational school where both girls and boys study together. While some people argue that students achieve better result in single-sex schools. I disagree with this statement because mixed school prepare students more competitive and efficient for real life situation and promote equality.
In my view, mostly countries focus on quality education despite of gender. Co-generation gives more presepective in knowledge sharing. Diversifcaiton in school with gender helps to develop more basic manners like respect, be kind, and other elements as well. Share my personal experience, I have done my graduation in co-education system where I was the only one girl in my class and I got help from my colleagues in every kind of matter regarding assignment, notes etc. Throughout, they helped me in four years and give a prespective towards life that despite of difficulties any gender can grow themselves.
On the other hand, few people believes that to maintain the cultural values, create an environment where distractions are limited and more focus one can do, can be done through seperate school system. This gives them more concentration towards education and for higher studies.
However, I believe that we live in era where all men and women study, work and live together. It is very important to communicate, discuss, improve interpersonal skills and more. Also, support in to end this kind of stereotype and talk naturally with each other. Mostly, lack in environment or surrounding who develop a mindset or people with traits like little shyness, lack of confidence etc. But promoting this culture creates more mutual respect for each other.
In conclusion, for better education and communication mixed education schools are very important, as it also help in build a good image in corporate world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position throughout against single-sex schooling, supported by relevant arguments concerning real-life preparation, social equality, and communication skills. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack full extension. For instance, the counter-argument regarding cultural values and reduced distractions in the third paragraph is introduced but remains rather brief and limited in elaboration. Similarly, the personal example provided in the second body paragraph is somewhat anecdotal and shifts focus slightly rather than fully developing the main academic point. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to extend and support all arguments more thoroughly with fully articulated explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established from the beginning and maintained throughout the response. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to divide the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion logically. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical or faulty. For example, transitional phrases such as 'On the other hand' and 'However' are used, but referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Mostly, lack in environment or surrounding who develop a mindset...', which disrupts the smooth progression of ideas. To improve, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices and ensure that referencing between sentences remains consistently precise and natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating central ideas about education and social integration. Attempts are made to use less common vocabulary, such as 'diversifcaiton', 'interpersonal skills', and 'stereotype', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and word form. For example, terms like 'Co-generation' and 'mixed school prepare students more competitive' demonstrate inaccurate word forms and collocations. Additionally, there are spelling errors, such as 'todays', 'presepective', 'Diversifcaiton', and 'seperate'. These lexical shortcomings reflect a limited control of precise vocabulary and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, placing this aspect firmly at the current band level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use varied structures such as relative clauses and subordinate constructions. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement errors ('few people believes', 'mostly countries focus'), missing articles ('in co-educational school', 'in real life situation'), and incorrect prepositional patterns ('support in to end'). While these errors do not completely impede overall communication, they occur frequently and indicate that attempts at complex structures are often faulty. Improving grammatical control and reducing basic structural errors will be essential for reaching a higher band.
