Student answer (Band 5.5)

Several regions of the world, education systems are combined or mixed, where male and female students can co-exist. Some individuals opine that, students who are enrolled single-sex schools might get advantages. I completely decline this statement and support the combined education system. This following discussion will justify my viewpoints with suitable examples.

To begin with, pupils must be admitted into mixed institutions for several reasons. First of all, this strategy will accelerate any student's socialization process. To explicate it, students who are in the community of girls as well as boys, they will be more interactive to all types of students. As a result, interpersonal skills of young learners will be increased that might help them in a long run. To illustrate,a recent comparative survey in U.S.A revealed that, teenaged belong to combined schools are far way interactive rather than single-sex school individuals in social settings.

Furthermore, students of mixed-sex schools have broader perspectives than those of gender specific institutions. To explain it, to understand opposite gender's psychology is quite essential to shape thought process of anyone. For instance, female learners of a Bangladeshi Girls' school reported that, they had negative mindset toward male students, as they were conservative in nature and always had a filtration in mind that, boys would harm them. As a result, they were quite unaware of this fact that, man can be friends too who could help them in their academic tasks.

Although, some parents have concern in terms of religious and safety aspects ,that their girls or boys should be divided into single gender school. In addition, during the school age free mixing can turn into a romantic relationship which parents are really afraid of.

To conclude that, despite the fact of concern that, develpoing immature relationship by free mixing in a school, I firmly believe that combined schools are necessary to make students socially avaliable and reshaping their mindset about opposit sex.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position against single-sex schools and supporting co-education. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the argument regarding socialization is elaborated with a reference to a survey, the counter-argument paragraphs—such as the mention of religious and safety concerns—are brief and remain under-developed rather than being thoroughly refuted or explored. The position is maintained throughout the essay, but deeper elaboration on the secondary points would elevate the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and logical paragraphing is attempted. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Transition phrases are frequently used, but referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'To explicate it, students who are in the community of girls as well as boys, they will be more interactive,' where the pronoun structure disrupts the flow. Additionally, some cohesive devices feel repetitive, indicating that the logical progression could be smoother and more naturally integrated between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, providing a minimally sufficient range to convey the writer's stance. There are attempts to use less common items, such as 'opine', 'socialization process', and 'broader perspectives', but these are accompanied by some word-choice and word-form inaccuracies, including 'develpoing' (spelling), 'avaliable' (spelling), and awkward phrasing like 'filtration in mind'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they highlight a lack of precision and flexibility that prevents the lexical score from rising higher.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Issues include incorrect prepositions and agreement errors, such as 'teenaged belong to combined schools' and 'man can be friends too', alongside structural awkwardness in sentences like 'Several regions of the world, education systems are combined'. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, they occur with enough regularity to indicate that control over complex structures is still developing.
