Student answer (Band 5.5)
Education is the basic right of all the people living in a free country. People debate that whether boys and girls are educated together in co-ducation or they are educated separately in single-sex schools. In this essay, I will share my opinion on the basis of some valid agruments for both educational systems.
To begin with, the benefits of co-education sysytem for the progress of students. In mixed schools, students get the chance to interact with opposite gender from a very young age and this help them to understand their boundries and limits. Furthermore, students from co-education are more confident and competitive. They know how to put forward their opinion without any hesitation. I am a teacher at an O and A levels academy, I teach girls and boys in the same class. My students know how to respect each other and there is always an healthy competition in between them. Althrough, with increased influence of social media, young girls and boys are getting hooked-up with each another.
Moving next to the single-sex schools, where girls and boys are teach in separate schools and there is no interaction with oposite gender. Students of this educational system are more disciplined and obedient. In is easier for teachers to handle teenage children in single-sex schools. There are less chances of moral mis-conduct but it is seen that students who are taught in separate schools are more agressive and violent.
According to above mention agrugements, I am of the opinion the students should be educated in co-educational systems because ultimately, in our schools we are preparing our children for the real-wolrd, where they have to interact with opposite genders. So, from early age we should teach them their limits and develop respect for each another.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position regarding co-educational systems. Relevant ideas are introduced, such as the social benefits of mixed schooling and the disciplinary aspects of single-sex institutions, supported by a personal example of teaching O and A levels. However, some ideas remain under-developed or briefly treated, such as the abrupt mention of social media distractions or the generalisation about aggression in single-sex schools. To reach a higher level, all main arguments need to be fully extended and supported with broader examples and deeper analysis rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, utilizing standard paragraphing for each main body point. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in transitions like 'Moving next to the single-sex schools' and 'According to above mention agrugements'. Referencing and logical progression between sentences can occasionally feel abrupt, meaning cohesive devices are not always managed with complete flexibility. To improve, the writer should ensure smoother transitions between paragraphs and employ a wider, more natural variety of cohesive links to guide the reader seamlessly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used provides an adequate range for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'co-educational systems' and 'moral mis-conduct'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'co-ducation' instead of co-education, 'sysytem', 'agruments', 'oposite', 'agressive', and 'agrugements'. These minor lexical slips and spelling inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, sitting comfortably within a limited range. To advance, the writer must expand their control of less common lexical items and pay closer attention to spelling and accurate word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. There are, nevertheless, several errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'People debate that whether boys and girls', 'this help them', 'there is always an healthy competition', 'Althrough, with increased influence', and 'where girls and boys are teach'. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they reflect a limited control over more complex structures. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater proportion of error-free sentences and demonstrate better command over verb forms, articles, and prepositions.
