Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, there has been increasing debate about whether boys and girls should be educated at single place or there must be separate arrangements to teach them.

On balance, I beleive that boys and girls should be educated at one place, mainly because learning at one place will allow them to understand views of people from different gender and age that really helps in living as resposible citizen by respecting other people view either girls or boys and it reduces the need for sparate management of classes for each gender and it will allow institutions to manage tutor's schedule efficiently.

It could be argued that educating boys and girls in mixed schools might raise some ethical concerns, particularly for schools with teens and adult students. The main reason for this is that some places with poor management may lead to trouble about several actions of students, even actions that are not ethically acceptable. But this could be controlled with diligent management and ethics lessons.

However, I would argue that co-education is the most effective method to teach childeren about living in successful scoiety becuase they learn to adapt in society where they might hear opposing opinions from diffrent types of people including boys and girsl. This will help them to nurture in environment with both types of people.

Additionally, In some areas it difficult to manage places for separate classes in different locations or even in same educational buildings. It will lead to space and time concentraints causing more burden.

Co-Education is the better way to teach children effectively as per rquirement of modern and advanced world along with ethics and manners.

This will allow them to grow and learn with people of opposing views and repsect them .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of co-education, though some ideas remain limited and under-developed. The writer touches upon relevant points, such as social adaptation and institutional efficiency, but these concepts are not fully explored or supported with detailed examples from personal experience. For instance, the mention of ethical concerns in mixed schools is introduced but quickly brushed aside without sufficient expansion. To reach a higher standard, the writer needs to present a more fully developed argument with well-supported ideas throughout all body paragraphs, ensuring that every main point is thoroughly explained rather than stated in broad, generalized terms.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organization evident through the use of transitional markers like 'However' and 'Additionally', but the text lacks a clear overall progression. The writer attempts to structure the essay into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but some sentences are exceptionally long and run-on, which disrupts the logical flow of ideas. For example, the second sentence of the response attempts to link multiple ideas—social understanding, responsible citizenship, and institutional scheduling—into a single massive structure without appropriate segmentation. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or over-used rather than smoothly integrated. Improving paragraph unity and using simpler, cleaner transitions between sentences would significantly enhance the overall readability and structural clarity.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message. There is an attempt to use topical terms like 'co-education', 'ethical concerns', and 'opposing opinions', but noticeable errors in spelling, word form, and word choice occur throughout the text. Examples include spelling mistakes like 'beleive', 'scoiety', 'becuase', 'diffrent', 'girsl', 'concentraints', and 'rquirement', alongside awkward phrasing such as 'educated at single place'. These lexical slips and repetitive use of basic terminology restrict the precision of the argument and can cause occasional difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer should expand their word family control, proofread carefully for common spelling errors, and incorporate more precise lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple constructions and attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are recurrent issues with article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'learning at one place will allow them to understand views of people from different gender' and 'in some areas it difficult to manage'. Punctuation is also weak, particularly regarding the handling of very long, clause-heavy sentences that lack internal control. While the meaning is generally retrievable despite the frequent errors, the lack of error-free complex sentences and persistent grammatical inaccuracies mean that the writing currently reflects a restricted grammatical repertoire.
