Student answer (Band 6.0)
In different parts of the world girls and boys are being educated together in a co educational environment. However few people argue over having benefits of single-sex schools. According to me i have a strong sense of support toward co education as it help students to merge in with each other which helps them in future work culture environment.
Firstly, studying in single-sex schools can help students to concentrate better on their studies. In teenage years, students can sometimes get distracted by the opposite gender, which may affect their academic performance. In a single-sex environment, students may feel less pressure about their appearance and social relationships and can focus more on their education. For example, some students may feel more confident participating in class discussions or activities when there are only boys or girls around them.
On the other hand, I believe that co-educational schools provide students with better preparation for real life. In the future, people have to work and communicate with both men and women in universities, workplaces and society. Studying together from a young age can help students understand each other better and develop communication, cooperation and respect. For instance, group projects in school can teach boys and girls how to work together and share different ideas.
In conclusion, although single-sex schools can help some students concentrate better and feel comfortable in their studies, I believe that co-educational schools have greater benefits. They prepare students for real-life situations, improve communication skills and encourage equality between genders. Therefore, I mostly support co-education.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the potential benefits of single-sex schools and the advantages of co-educational environments, leading to a clear overall position. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the paragraph exploring single-sex schools touches briefly on concentration and reduced social pressure, but lacks fully extended examples compared to your discussion on real-life preparation. Additionally, the response falls slightly short of the minimum requirement, containing 246 words instead of the required 250, with 8 words copied directly from the prompt not counting towards the total. To reach a higher band, you should ensure every main idea is thoroughly extended with specific support, and carefully monitor your word count during the exam.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression throughout. You make use of standard cohesive devices and transition signals such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader through your arguments. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, with each paragraph focusing on a distinct aspect of the prompt. However, cohesion can occasionally feel a bit mechanical due to reliance on basic transitional markers. To improve further, you should aim for more seamless referencing and subtler logical links between sentences, avoiding repetitive structural patterns at the beginnings of your body paragraphs.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'co-educational environment', 'academic performance', and 'work culture environment'. Communication is generally clear, and your vocabulary choices are mostly appropriate for an academic discussion. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as writing 'co educational' without a hyphen and phrasing your personal stance as 'According to me i have a strong sense of support'. To achieve a higher score, you need to incorporate a wider variety of sophisticated, less common vocabulary with precise control over collocations and natural phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating your ability to construct compound and subordinate clauses such as 'Studying together from a young age can help students understand each other better'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles, awkward lower-case letter usage in pronouns like 'i', and minor prepositions issues inside grammatical patterns, but these errors rarely impede communication and your meaning remains clear throughout. To move up to the next band, you should increase the proportion of error-free complex sentences and refine your control over punctuation and minor grammatical mechanics.
