Student answer (Band 6.0)

Education has nothing to do with gender, but educational institutes based on gender have refined the thoughts of people regarding it.A significant part of the world is highly relying on mixed schools where both the boys and girls are taught together, while few individuals presume that separate schools for both genders are more fruitful.I disaccord as the real world amy become challenging for such students when they would get exposure of workplaces with both genders working together.

Undeniably,co-educational schools are far more beneficial since they prepare the children for real world from young age. They do not have to grapple with cahllenges at workplaces where they have to sit and coordinate with opposite sex.More importantly, they learn to respect each and other and welcome thoughts of counterparts irrespective of gender. This, infact, creates a harmonious society, thereby making it ideal. To illustrate-Students grow up believing in gender equality and boys tend not to dominate girls.Going in mixed gender schools reduces gender discrimination and make the society an egalitarian. The other compelling reason is pupils get education with more diversity as both genders sitting together classes share their thoughts and strategies to study.

However,single-sex schools are favoured by many due to increasing concerns regarding distraction caused by opposite gender. Many students in teenage get off the track and lose focus on study due to natural and inevitable nature of human attraction towards other gender.Even gender based crimes are the culprit and make parents afraid.Everyday there are cases of teens involving in murders of their opposite gender friends just because of being possessive. Moreover, there are students those who could not come out with more free ideas owing to reserved personality.Girls usually feel shy asking their teachers certain things in front of boys.

To conclude,single-gender schools are better from safety perspective, but co-educational schools are more effective in preparing the children for real world.Nevertheless, safety can be guaranteed by schools by implementing strict monitoring and policies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you disagree that single-sex education is generally more beneficial, while acknowledging its perceived safety and concentration advantages. You address both sides and support your view with relevant points, including preparation for mixed-gender workplaces, respect, and concerns about distraction. This meets the task well overall. Some ideas, however, are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that mixed schools reduce discrimination would be stronger with a specific explanation or example, and the serious claim about teenagers committing murders is broad and not substantiated. To develop the response further, explain how the benefits arise and qualify generalisations, while keeping the comparison between the two school types balanced.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, separate body paragraphs discuss the advantages of co-education and the case for single-sex schools, and the conclusion returns to your view. Ideas generally progress in a logical order, and linking expressions such as “More importantly,” “However,” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. At times, though, cohesion feels mechanical because several points are joined in long sequences, and some references are unclear—for instance, “the other compelling reason” does not clearly identify which reason is being introduced. Improve progression by grouping related points, using more precise links between claims and explanations, and varying sentence boundaries rather than relying on repeated connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “co-educational,” “gender equality,” “diversity,” and “egalitarian,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “grapple with challenges” and “harmonious society.” These choices show ambition, although some are inaccurate or unnatural in context: “disaccord” is not the usual way to express your position, and “more fruitful” is vague for comparing schools. There are also spelling errors, including “amy” and “cahllenges,” which reduce polish. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, use “disagree,” “more beneficial,” and “workplaces where people of different genders collaborate” to express your ideas more idiomatically.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a relative clause in “where both the boys and girls are taught together” and a concession introduced by “However.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. Examples include “from young age” (missing an article), “each and other” (incorrect construction), “make the society” (agreement and article use), and “there are students those who” (incorrect relative-clause structure). Commas are also often missing after introductory phrases, while some sentences run together. Practise accurate article use, subject–verb agreement, and relative clauses, then proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation. More reliable control of these patterns would make your varied sentence forms clearer.
