Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, boys and girls are commonly educated together. Although some people believe that single-sex schools are more beneficial, I strongly disagree with this view.
The most significant reason is communication. By mixed education, boys and girls learn better communication which helps them for further studies in university. In addition, mixed education plays a vital role in preparing students for real life, in real life both genders work together and communicate with each other daily. Moreover, mixed education encourages healthy competition and generates different ideas, which can improve students' leaning skills. For example, in offcies, boys and girls both work together, they communicate with each other on a daily basis for working purposes.
By contrast, separate schools may be better for concentration. Some people may feel shy or distracted in mixed schools. However, this problem can be solved by teachers through effective teaching. School administration should also maintain good discipline. This can reduce problems with concenration. For instance, in many countries, some schools have good discipline. As a result, mixed education is beneficial.
To conclude, I believe that mixed schools are more beneficial for students. Educational institude should maintain good discipline in schools to solve the concentration problem. Mixed schools are also beneficial because they improve good communication and encourage students to generate different ideas through healthy competition.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you disagree that single-sex schools are more beneficial and support mixed education. You address both sides by noting that separate schools may help concentration, then explaining why you think this concern can be managed. Communication, preparation for working life, and healthy competition are relevant reasons. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the claim that mixed schooling improves “leaning skills” is not developed, and the office example largely repeats the point about communication. The discipline example is also general and does not show specifically how it resolves distraction. The response is 33 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting mixed education, a contrast paragraph, and a conclusion. The progression from benefits to a possible drawback and response is easy to follow. You use linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Moreover,” “By contrast,” and “To conclude,” and the contrast paragraph helps show that you have considered the opposing view. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in connecting ideas. However, several links feel mechanical, and the office example repeats the communication point rather than advancing it. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims. To strengthen progression, make each paragraph develop a distinct reason and use referencing or transitions that clarify how each example supports that reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “co-educational,” “healthy competition,” “discipline,” and “concentration,” and your meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “preparing students for real life.” However, the range is somewhat repetitive, especially with repeated uses of “mixed education,” “beneficial,” and “communicate.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “learn better communication,” “improve students’ leaning skills,” and “Educational institude” do not sound natural. Spelling errors such as “offcies” and “concenration” are noticeable, though the intended meaning can usually be understood. Build a wider set of precise expressions and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although some people believe…” and a contrast introduced by “By contrast.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and errors rarely prevent understanding. Some sentence structures need more control. For example, “In offcies, boys and girls both work together, they communicate…” joins two independent clauses with only a comma; use a full stop or a conjunction. In “which helps them for further studies in university,” the grammatical pattern after “helps” and the preposition are not well controlled. The phrase “in real life, both genders work together” also repeats the same sentence opening. Practise accurate clause joining and varied complex structures, while checking articles and prepositions.
