Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the many parts of the world there are numerous schools which are providing education for both girls and boys like co-education or mixed schools. Few individuals argue that girls and boys has benefits by educating separately in single-sex schools. I will agree with this statement at some extent because there are few benefits in co-education also.

One of the major benefit by single-sex schools is that the students can able to focus on their studies without focusing on extra activities. Nowadays, we are observing many students are encouraging extra activities like relation ship and love extra. For instance, at the age of schooling this type of feeling can damage the carrier of many students and may causes distractions for their studies. As the result, the single-sex school can provide a quality education without any distraction of their studies. Moreover, the students can give respect for every person because they unable to comment any girls because they have separate schools it leads to less harassment rate in community.

On the other hand, the are few benefits by co-education schools because the students can able to learn how behave with other gender persons. In addition, the students can learn ethics and values from co-education schools. By co-education schools students can able to know the true value of other genders and what problems faced by opposite gender. By this students will respect to each others. Additionally, interaction and communication between girls and boys will built a strong bond and the students can learn at age of schooling only. That helps in future to communicate with opposite person. For example , in present days many individuals are facing problems that how to communicate with girls because they are from single-sex schools. Eventually, that helps to express the feelings to other genders.

In conclusion, i will agree with that statement at some extent because the single-sex schools helps to concentrate on their studies without focusing on other activities. In contrast, co-education schools teaches a student how to behave with opposite genders and who to give respect to them. Moreover, in this schools the students can share their feelings and communicate each other easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and state a qualified position: you agree to some extent with single-sex education while recognising advantages of co-education. The discussion of focus and possible distractions in single-sex schools, and communication skills in mixed schools, is relevant. Examples such as students finding it difficult to communicate with girls after attending single-sex schools help illustrate your points. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, that separate schools reduce harassment, and that relationships damage students’ academic progress. The conclusion repeats the main points but does not clarify which type of school you ultimately consider more beneficial. Develop the reasoning behind these claims and make your overall judgement more decisive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the other hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the shift between ideas. Within paragraphs, however, several points are added in sequence without a clear explanation of how they connect, particularly the move from respect to harassment and then to communication. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, and references such as “this” and “that” do not always identify the idea being discussed precisely. Group related points and explain the connection between each claim and its example. This would make the progression more natural and cohesion less dependent on repeated connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss education and relationships, including “single-sex schools,” “co-education,” “distractions,” “harassment,” and “communication.” This gives the response a relevant vocabulary base. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “students,” “schools,” and “benefits,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate and can make meaning less clear. Examples include “carrier” for “career,” “extra activities” where you mean romantic relationships, and “give respect for.” Some phrases, such as “opposite gender persons,” also sound unnatural. Build a wider set of precise expressions for academic performance, social interaction, and gender relations, and check collocations and spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, using structures such as “because,” “without,” and “that helps,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “girls and boys has benefits” should use a plural verb, while “the students can able to focus” combines two incompatible forms. In “the are few benefits,” the subject is missing, and “the single-sex school can provide” does not agree naturally with the plural context. Work on subject–verb agreement and choose either “can” or “be able to,” not both. Proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation as well.
