Student answer (Band 5.5)
Across the glob students are educated in co-educational or mixed-gender schools. Many people believe that educating students in uni-sex schools have a positive impact. Personally, i fully disagree with this statement
In my opinion, educating students in mixed-gender schools is more benifitial as it helps the students to explore the physcology of other gender and how to work with them. For example in my country majority of the schools are uni-sex and students of such schools lack communication skills and confidence when interacting with the opposite gender. Furthuremore they don't know how to work professionaly with the opposite genders if working on any academic project or later in future offices work. We can overcome these problems if we educated our students from mixed-gender schools. These schools not only give the necessary education but also groom the students to how to exist around people of opposite gender.
Moreover, There is a slight draw back of such schools, as the studnets might get distracted due to the sexual tension between opposite gender but it can also be resolved if we properly channel it, by providing right knowledge and guidance to the students.we should tell the students that it is part of the nature we don't have to ignore this but learn how to navigate through this.
In conclusion, co-educational or mixed-gender schools are beiniftial for students grooming as they help the students to learn how to treat the opposite gender and how to respect them and it inhances there communication skills and confidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you fully disagree that single-sex education is more beneficial, and you address the comparison by explaining why mixed schools may prepare students for interaction across genders. The examples about communication, confidence and future workplaces are relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, you say students in single-sex schools “lack communication skills and confidence,” but do not qualify this claim or give a specific example showing how mixed schooling develops those abilities. The paragraph about sexual tension acknowledges a possible drawback and offers guidance as a response, but this solution could be explained more concretely. Developing these ideas with clearer reasoning and a more specific example would make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons and a qualification, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. The shift from the drawback of sexual tension to “it can also be resolved” would benefit from a more explicit explanation of what “it” refers to and how the proposed guidance addresses it. Some sentences also combine several related claims, making progression less smooth. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and ensure pronouns refer unmistakably to the intended idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mixed-gender schools,” “communication skills,” “opposite gender” and “guidance,” so your meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “channel it” and “navigate through this.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “benifitial,” “physcology,” “Furthuremore,” “studnets” and “inhances.” Some word choices and collocations are also awkward: “groom the students to how to exist around people” and “offices work” do not sound natural in this context. Build a reliable range of education-related phrases and check spelling and collocation carefully; this would make your ideas more precise and easier to read.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “We can overcome these problems if we educated our students from mixed-gender schools” and a concession in “There is a slight draw back … but it can also be resolved.” The overall meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. For example, “educating students … have a positive impact” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “if we educated” does not fit the intended general conditional; “if we educate” is appropriate. The opening also needs sentence punctuation, and “i” should be capitalised. Review agreement and conditional patterns, and separate sentences with correct punctuation to improve control.
