Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are different kinds of learning center in the world where girls and boys are educating together in mixed schools. Other people argue that the girls and boys school should be educated seperately in single sex schools. I totally disagree with this statement of going to study where it is gender related because sometimes the helps of the different girls and boys is needed.
Firstly, Education teach in the mixed schools have different kinds of advantages. Whenever we can see the both are going to mixed schools then they can make different kinds of friends where their vibes can match. On the school days it was very hard for me to become a friends of girls where i choose my class boys to become a good friend. Eveyone have their own aspects of different things when we be comfortable with someone then we can make them our close ones to share our feelings, thoughts and many more.
However, Many others also consider that the girls and boys school should be seperately because everyone has their own thoughts in their life. In the city Kathmandu there are variety of girls schools and boys too such as St Marys school which is mainly for the girls. For example, Some students may feel shy and distracted around other people which cannot help them to improve their own study. Therefore seperate classes can help them to make more attention in the classroom which helps the academic performance.
In the conclusion, Although teaching girls and boys seperately may have some benefits. But i believe that they should study in mixed schools whichs helps them to communicate to each other. It helps them to interact with different kinds of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you disagree with educating students separately and favour mixed schools. You address both sides by mentioning friendship and communication in co-educational settings, then noting that some students may feel shy or distracted in mixed classes. However, the supporting ideas are limited and not fully explained. The personal example about choosing boys as friends does not clearly show how mixed education benefits students, and the Kathmandu school example names a girls’ school without explaining its educational outcomes. To strengthen the response, explain how learning together prepares students for adult life, and develop the counterargument before showing why you still prefer mixed schools.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different views, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “In the conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the shift from making friends to sharing feelings does not fully connect to the educational benefits being discussed. Some linking is also mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the preference for mixed schools without drawing together the reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main point; vary transitions and use pronouns or references carefully so relationships between ideas are easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “mixed schools,” “single sex schools,” “academic performance,” and “communicate.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. For example, “the helps of the different girls and boys” is difficult to interpret, while “their vibes can match” is informal and imprecise for an academic essay. Repeated use of “different kinds” and “helps” also limits precision. Build a more formal vocabulary for discussing social and educational outcomes, and check spelling and word forms such as “separately” and “everyone.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “Whenever we can see the both are going to mixed schools…” and a concession in the conclusion. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “girls and boys are educating together,” “Education teach,” and “everyone have.” The sentence beginning “Although teaching girls and boys separately may have some benefits” is also incomplete when followed by “But i believe.” These errors can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
