Student answer (Band 5.5)
Education is necessary for everyone irrespective of the gender. To get a stable job and income, education is must in this evolving period. A literate person always stays ahead in comparison to a illiterate one. Uneducated person may have higher source of income or may be more rich but education provides perks which an uneducated person cannot benefit from. In this essay, I will talk about why education is important for both male and female and what are the impacts of teaching them in a same class or in separate classes.
Teaching the students in a mixed gender school is beneficial. Students learn how to respect each other and cooperate with one another. They learn that boundaries have been set and we have to stay within the boundaries. Because of this limitation, their brains develop the sense of awareness which helps them in their future. Additionally, it will also help students when they will grow up and will be working in the offices. As we know that mostly businesses and offices have both males and females and they work in a cooperative way regarding of the gender. So co-education trains the students for their future cooperate period in which the work environment is neutral.
Students studying in a mono gender school are trained in a way that they become gender biased. They consider opposite gender to be incompetent. However, they study in a more comfortable environment without any restrictions and do not face any hesitation. Moreover, students in a school with co-education system has many different concerns as well. Students often make friendships and bonds with opposite genders which haunts many parents. Due to this, their studies effect a lot and may get distracted from their goals.
In the conclusion, single gender education and co-education have their own impacts. Mono gender education makes the learning environment friendly and impactful whereas co-education trains the students to study in a limited environment and can effect the studies if not controlled strictly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both mixed and single-sex schooling and give relevant reasons, including cooperation, preparation for workplaces, comfort, and possible distraction. However, the response only partly answers the central question of how far you agree: the introduction says you will discuss education generally, and the conclusion lists effects without stating a clear overall preference. Several points are asserted rather than explained—for example, that single-sex students become gender-biased, or that friendships distract students—without examples or qualification. To strengthen the response, state your position directly and maintain it throughout, then develop fewer arguments with explanation or a relevant example. This would make the answer more fully focused on the question rather than a general comparison of school types.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs also group related points: the second focuses on advantages of co-education, while the third considers single-sex schooling and concerns about mixed schools. Linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “However,” and “Moreover” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is not always clear: the opening spends considerable space on the general value of education, and the conclusion introduces a summary without resolving your position. Some links are mechanical, and references such as “this limitation” are unclear because no specific limitation has been established. Organise the essay around a clear position and use more precise links between each claim and its explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “co-education,” “gender biased,” “cooperate,” and “work environment,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There is also an attempt to use less common expressions such as “sense of awareness.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning harder to follow. For example, “future cooperate period” does not express the intended idea, and “haunts many parents” is an unsuitable choice for parental concern. “A more rich” and “a literate person” also show imprecise forms or phrasing. Aim for natural collocations and precise academic wording, such as “future working lives,” “concerns many parents,” and “more prosperous.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “Because” and “whereas,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences, and errors recur in articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence construction. Examples include “education is must,” “a illiterate one,” and “students … has many different concerns.” The phrase “when they will grow up” also uses an unsuitable tense pattern after “when,” while “their studies effect a lot” has a faulty grammatical construction. These errors sometimes interrupt the reader’s understanding. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build complexity carefully, checking articles, subject–verb agreement and verb forms in each sentence.
