Student answer (Band 5.5)

in several parts of the world both genders are educated in co-educational or merged schools and many people believe that girls and boys advantage from being educated independently in single sex school. In my prespective co-education is far better than having single-sex school.

Due to the fact that co-educational schools provide more benefits and allow childrens to communicate even more better.

On the one hand co-educational school provide more opportunities, children can groom them self even more better, they tends to know how to treat every gender equally with prosperity.

they come to know that how to co-operate and respect each other boundaries.Even though i believe that a healthy environment and proper guidance to childrens from parents and teachers has a very positive impact. for instance they should treat both gender equally and make them understand how to respect each other.

On the other hand single-sex schools also create a safe environment. childers can feel more comfortable while participating nevertheless i didnot provide as much opportunities as co-education.For instance getting jobs at adulhood you have to work with other genders too.

Once my neighbour he studied at seprate school and my cousion he studied at co-educational school so my cousion has more confidence as compare to my neighbour.

In conclusion, i would say that co-education provide more benefits and career opportunities. Moreover parents and teachers has a great influence on childerns live because they develope behaviours as they see or taught. so lastly if you guide them properly how to respect both genders it will ultimately creates healthy envionment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you favour co-education, and you address both sides by noting that mixed schools can encourage cooperation while single-sex schools may offer a safer, more comfortable setting. The example comparing your cousin and neighbour also supports your view, although it is anecdotal and its relevance could be explained more fully. Some ideas are relevant but under-developed: for example, you say students learn to respect boundaries and cooperate, but do not explain how this benefits them in later life. The point about parents’ and teachers’ guidance is repeated in the conclusion rather than developed as a separate reason. Extend each main point with a clear explanation or a more specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from opportunities to equal treatment and then parental guidance without clearly showing how these points connect. Some linking is mechanical, and “nevertheless” does not clearly express the relationship between comfort and limited opportunities. The personal comparison is also introduced abruptly. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then use clear references and transitions to connect its explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “co-educational,” “single-sex,” “participating,” “boundaries,” and “career opportunities.” This gives you enough language to communicate your main position, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “children can groom them self,” “with prosperity,” and “getting jobs at adulthood”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “prespective,” “seprate,” and “envionment” also stand out. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling, word forms, and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “Even though” and a conditional idea beginning “if you guide them properly.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “co-educational school provide” needs a plural subject or a singular verb, while “they tends” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening fragment beginning “Due to the fact that” is not a complete sentence, and several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise checking each sentence for a complete main clause, then review subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms.
