Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, co-education has became very popular in our community, but it has both drawbacks and benefits. While some individuals contend that single-sex schools would be more beneficial for the pupils, I strongly agree that academic institutions should separate boys and girls classes. As, it can be more advantageous for them, because co-education can have several disadvantages such as certain relationships, wastage of time.
One the main reason of separation is pupils could be distracted from opposite genders, which can have a negative impact on their studies. This is because, attracting from an opposite sex is a part of human nature, and learners can waste their crucial time on different type of relationships. For instance, students who are in relationships with their any on its classmate, then it can distract them from the lecture, which can may result in negative outcomes for their academic studies. Consequently, it will be detriment for their academic career.
Another reason why I agree is that teachers can adapt a totally different environment for each genders. This is because, teachers can focus on the different learning needs and classroom challenges of their students without having to manage a mixed-sex classroom. For instance, teachers may organize activities and discussions that encourage students to participate more confidently. As a result, students may develop their abilities and achieve better academic results.
In conclusion, although multi-sex school can be advantageous, single-sex academic centers are more beneficial for learners. I believe that single-sex institutions are more better, because pupils can focus on their studies rather than on other distractions, which may help them to achieve better qualifiactions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly support separating boys and girls, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—distraction from relationships and the possibility of tailoring classroom environments—and include examples, so the response addresses the question. However, the first reason receives much more explanation than the second, whose example about activities and participation is not clearly linked to why single-sex teaching would improve outcomes. The claim that mixed schools lead to wasted time is also broad and would be more convincing with a specific, balanced example. Develop both reasons more evenly and explain how the evidence supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “One the main reason,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. This coherent arrangement is a strength. However, some linking is mechanical: “This is because” is repeated, and several sentences begin with “For instance” or “As a result” without always making the relationship between the example and the claim precise. The opening sentence of the first body paragraph also needs a clearer grammatical connection to the explanation that follows. Use varied transitions and clearer references to make the argument flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “co-education,” “single-sex,” “learning needs,” “participate confidently,” and “academic results.” These choices make your position and main ideas understandable. There are also noticeable problems with word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling that limit precision: “attracting from an opposite sex,” “different type of relationships,” “detriment for their academic career,” and “qualifiactions” are not natural or accurate expressions. “Multi-sex school” is also unclear in this context. Aim for standard collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise phrasing will help you express the argument without relying on repeated general terms such as “beneficial” and “distractions.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “co-education has became” should use the correct past participle, while “One the main reason” is missing a word and has a number-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “For instance, students who are in relationships…” contains several structural errors, including “can may result,” which makes the point harder to follow. The opening “As, it can be…” is also an incomplete, awkwardly punctuated construction. Review these patterns and simplify sentences when needed, while continuing to practise accurate complex clauses.
