Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, Co-educational instutions has become a subject of considerable debate. While a number of people believe that male and female should be taught seperately. I strongly agree with this view because it helps indivisuals to concentrate fully on their studies and keep them away from distractions.
The primary argument is that, if students go to mixed schools they would be less focused on their studies. This is largely because, it`s a natural habit of human that they always want to attract and impress opposite gender over anything. A clear example of this can be seen from a recent research in Texas Primary School where students continiously try to show themselves better infront of opposit sex human rather than focusing on their study. As a result, they were not having good grades in exam. Another research has proven that rejection or not getting attention from opposit sex can lead to severe anexity and depression. Consequently, students were loosing their interest in studies.
On the other hand, students in co-educational institution has better understanding of opposite gender and social values. A research in California High School has shown that student`s who studied in a mixed school knows better how to communicate with opposit gender in a respective way. For instance, students from co-educational schools feel less anxious to communicate with opposit gender in universities and workplace as well. Consequently, they were performing better due to better communicating skills with everyone. However, it was a small number and those who studied in single-sex school but did know the proper way of talking to opposit gender can also succed in versity and worklife.
In Conclusion, Single-sex schools help both boys and girls to learn more in a effective way and it`s better than mixed schools despite having some drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support single-sex education, and you address both its possible benefits and the social advantages of mixed schools. The first main point—reduced distraction—is supported with examples about attention, grades, and emotional effects. You also acknowledge that co-education may improve communication with the opposite gender, which helps answer the question in a balanced way. However, some support is unclear or insufficiently explained: the Texas example does not establish how the research was conducted, and the claim that the sample was small is not clearly connected to your conclusion. Develop these points with more precise reasoning and explain why the academic benefits outweigh the social drawbacks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting considerations, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “The primary argument,” “On the other hand,” and “In Conclusion” makes the direction of the discussion easy to follow. However, some links are mechanical or do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Consequently” introduces results in both body paragraphs, but the connection between the evidence and the conclusion is not always fully explained. The sentence beginning “However, it was a small number” is also difficult to connect to the preceding point. Use clearer referencing and transitions, and make each paragraph’s reasoning progress step by step rather than relying mainly on signposting phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “co-educational,” “single-sex,” “distractions,” “depression,” and “communicating skills,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a subject of considerable debate.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated wording, especially “opposit sex,” and by inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations. Examples include “instutions,” “seperately,” “anexity,” “infront,” and “succed”; these errors sometimes make the reader pause. Some expressions, such as “attract and impress opposite gender over anything,” are also unnatural. Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing academic performance and social development, and proofread spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures: “if students go to mixed schools…” and “because it helps individuals…”. This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors occur across sentence forms, agreement, articles, and tense. For example, “Co-educational institutions has become” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “students … knows” and “institution has” also show agreement errors. The sentence “While a number of people believe…” is a fragment because it is not joined to a main clause. Tense shifts such as “were having” and “were performing” are not clearly justified. Practise complete sentences, consistent present-tense generalisations, and accurate agreement and article use.
