Student answer (Band 4.0)
In many parts of the world, co-education is very common in educational institutions where boys and girls study together. Some people argue that it is beneficial for both genders to study separately. I partly agree with this opinion because separate educational system may have some complications and can create difficulty for some students.
On the one side, the separted educational system has many advantages. specially, the girls can study in free environment. Some girls are not comfortable with co-system so it will be benificial for them. Similarly boys will also get focused on studies. They will

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You introduce the topic and state a position with “I partly agree,” then begin to explain why separate schooling might help girls and boys. However, the response does not develop this position or address the question in sufficient detail: the claim that some girls feel uncomfortable in mixed schools is not supported with an example or explanation, and the point about boys focusing on studies is left unfinished. The opening also mentions complications from separate education without explaining what these are. Most importantly, the response is substantially below the required 250 words, so it cannot provide the developed reasons and relevant examples the task asks for. Extend the discussion with balanced, specific arguments and a clear conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable opening and begins a body paragraph, and phrases such as “Similarly” show an attempt to connect related points. However, the progression is incomplete: the introduction promises complications, while the body discusses advantages and does not return to those complications. “On the one side” signals a contrast, but no opposing side or conclusion follows. The final sentence, “They will,” is unfinished, which leaves the paragraph without a complete point. Organise the response into a full introduction, developed paragraphs for each main reason, and a conclusion; use linking expressions to show the relationship between ideas rather than leaving the reader to infer it.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “co-education,” “educational institutions,” “genders,” and “separately,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is narrow and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “free environment” and “get focused on studies.” Spelling errors in “separted” and “benificial” also reduce accuracy. The phrase “co-system” is unclear and does not sound natural in this context. Build a more precise range for discussing educational settings and outcomes, and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe a “supportive learning environment” and say that students “can concentrate more effectively on their studies.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You produce some clear simple sentences, such as “Some people argue that it is beneficial for both genders to study separately,” and you attempt a complex sentence with “because.” This shows a basic ability to connect clauses. However, the range is limited, and errors or incomplete structures affect clarity. In “Some girls are not comfortable with co-system so it will be…,” the clauses need clearer grammatical connection and reference; “They will” is an unfinished sentence. The opening also has an extra space after “because,” and punctuation is inconsistent. Practise completing each sentence and varying structures with accurate subordinate clauses, while checking articles, clause boundaries, and punctuation.
