Student answer (Band 5.0)

In different parts of the world both girls and boys are educated together in co-educational schools. Some individuals think that girls and boys benefit from being educated separately in single-sex schools.

I strongly disagree with this statement that children would be educated in single-sex schools. In different parts of the world, people thought that children shouldn't be taught in co-educational system because they have different insecurities.

Firstly, individuals thinks that if they taught their children in a co-educational system this would be harmful for them. Beacuse in many countries harrasment cases are widely spread and the educational system is one of the main cause. According to many research shows that student who are studing in a co-educational system, they are facing harassment and bulling. These are main issues currently students are facing. But if the school taughts the students to respect everyone irrespective to their gender, this wouldn't happened.

Parents feel insecure about educated their childs in a mixed schools beacuse childs may involved in a bad activities such as relationships. Different culture and religion don't give permission to do this. On the other hand, there is the advantages of being students taught in a mixed school beacuse they know different genders mentality. As a girl, they know what boys think about her.

I believe that these type of issues are happened anywhere, but if parents and teachers play their own role and gives student a lecture on ethical issues. I don't think so these issues would happened again. Schools also take steps regarding this and arrange a motivational seminars on the co-educational system.

In conclusion, there are the prons and cons of children being taught in a mixed schools but the advantages outweight its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall position—“I strongly disagree”—and discuss relevant concerns about harassment and relationships, as well as the potential benefit of students understanding different genders. However, the argument only partly answers the question because the reasons for preferring mixed education are not developed consistently. The paragraph about harassment mainly presents the case against co-education before briefly suggesting that schools can teach respect, and the point about understanding “different genders mentality” needs explanation or an example. Your conclusion states that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but the essay would be more convincing if each main reason directly supported this judgement and was developed with specific evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify stages of the argument. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the first body paragraph introduces harassment as a problem in mixed schools, then shifts quickly to how schools might address it. The next paragraph combines parental concerns, cultural restrictions and a possible benefit without clearly connecting them. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, and references such as “these type of issues” are not fully clear. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain how it supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “co-educational system,” “harassment,” “ethical issues” and “motivational seminars,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts less natural or occasionally harder to understand. Examples include “different genders mentality,” “bad activities,” “prons and cons” and “outweight.” Some key terms, such as “co-educational system” and “issues,” are repeated rather than varied. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling carefully; for instance, explain the specific social skills or classroom benefits you mean instead of relying on broad phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “if the school taughts the students to respect everyone … this wouldn't happened.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and plurals occur frequently enough to affect fluency. Examples include “individuals thinks,” “if they taught their children,” “this wouldn't happened,” and “parents feel insecure about educated their childs.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly where a sentence begins “According to many research shows.” Practise building accurate clauses with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb patterns before adding more complex ideas.
