Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries, mostly individuals believe that male and female are educated together in co-educational or mixed schools. While, Some people argue that girls and boys benefit from being educated seperately in signl-sex colleges.

I partially agree with this statement, the benefits are arguably outweight the drawbacks.

On the one hand, if girls and boys will studies together in same colleges and universities so they will have more confidence and self-respect. Consequently, girls does not feel shy and they will easily can communicate with boys, the priority difference may also removed in this way.Following this, both male and female also be willing ready to help each other without any hesitation. They can also learn numerous crucial skills such as time management, discipline and team work.

On the other hand, some adults argue that male and female does not studies together because this is against to Islam. In addition, it may create bad impact on our socities due to thinking or feelings of students. Studing together also create competition between boys and girs, some students may feel pressure and does not concentrate well which might create negative affect on their health.

For instance, some students have lack of confidence and they does not ask questions in classroom with each other just because whats the other students think if the question and answer will be wrong.

In conclusion, it is better for both female and male learning together to gain different knowledge. Moreover, it can also create a enjoyable environment during lecture when everyone have different aspects about the topic. Meanwhile, there must be focus of good communication and how to respect each other.Subsequently, government should also build in co-educational institutes that would be really beneficial for academic excellence and for prosperous future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall preference for co-education in the conclusion and include relevant points about confidence, communication, cooperation, and possible pressure. However, the opening says you “partially agree” with the benefits of single-sex education, while the body and conclusion mainly support mixed schools, so your position is not consistently clear. The discussion of single-sex schooling is also limited: the religious objection and possible competition are mentioned but not explained in enough detail, and the example about students being afraid to ask questions is not clearly linked to the case for separate schools. Develop both sides more fully and explain how each example supports your stated extent of agreement. The response meets the task’s length requirement; 17 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, an example, and a conclusion. The “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” signals help readers identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the example about students hesitating to ask questions appears after the paragraph on disadvantages but does not explicitly show which school arrangement it supports. Some linking expressions, such as “Following this” and “Subsequently,” feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. The conclusion also introduces government action without developing that idea earlier. Group related points more clearly, use references that make connections explicit, and ensure each paragraph advances the argument in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “self-respect,” “hesitation,” “competition,” and “academic excellence,” and readers can generally understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret, such as “the priority difference may also removed,” “bad impact,” and “prosperous future” in this context. Spelling errors, including “seperately,” “signl-sex,” and “socities,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe how mixed schooling “reduces social barriers” or how pressure “affects students’ wellbeing,” rather than relying on unclear or awkward combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures, but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “girls does not feel,” “they will easily can communicate,” and “male and female does not studies together.” Sentence construction is also faulty in “if girls and boys will studies together … so they will have,” while missing or misplaced punctuation sometimes joins ideas awkwardly. These errors can make the reader pause, even though the general meaning is often recoverable. Practise forming accurate present-tense statements and conditionals, and check subject–verb agreement, auxiliary verbs, articles, and sentence boundaries. Build complexity only after the basic clause is correct.
