Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many countries, co-educational schools taught male and female students, but some people argue that getting education from single-sex schools is more beneficial for students. I firmly agree to this view because it will secure girls from harrasment of boys and also shift the focus of boys to study rather than girls.

The first reason for choosing this statemment is that girls will reduce the harrasement on girls. It can be seen in many schools giving co-education that the boys do noy pay heed to their study and always stare at girls even in the lecture. This is becuse they watch many indian school love movies and aim to find love in school. This is happening because they do not realize that the movie is scripted and that doesn't heppen in real life. Consequently, Many boys force girls to become their girlfreind and wiseversa. For instance, recently in an indian survey, the rate of girls feeling uncomfortable while studying with boys in a same school increased as compared to the previous years.

Another benefit of this development is that it will bring back the focus of boys to education. While studying with only boys they will just focus on studies and always try to do better than the other students. This is because every class has a topper student, and the other students always want to compete with him to become the topper of next year. Resultantly, they become hard working and successful in their life. Furthermore, they will be able to distinguish between practical life and cinematic life.

In conclusion, I would say that studying in a single-sex school is more beneficial to students of both sex because it can give them security and a harder competition in studies if they focus on it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree with single-sex education, citing girls’ security and boys’ academic focus. Both reasons are relevant, and you support them with explanations and an example of a survey. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The claim that boys’ attention is diverted by romantic films and that they pressure girls is explained, but the survey is not identified or described in enough detail to make it convincing. The second point—that boys will compete to become the top student—has a clear chain of reasoning, though it would benefit from a concrete example and more consideration of how single-sex schooling benefits girls academically. Develop each main idea more fully and qualify broad claims about boys and girls.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression within the paragraphs is generally understandable, and signposts such as “The first reason,” “Another benefit,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some stronger control through distinct paragraphing and a logical sequence of explanation. To make the flow more natural, reduce formulaic transitions and clarify links between claims. For example, “Consequently” introduces the claim that boys pressure girls, but the connection to the preceding point about films needs more careful explanation. Ensure references such as “this development” clearly identify the idea being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “co-educational,” “single-sex schools,” “competition,” and “security.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “harrasment,” “statemment,” “noy,” “becuse,” and “heppen.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “reduce the harrasement on girls” and “bring back the focus of boys to education.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make the writing less fluent. Build accuracy with common academic collocations and check spelling carefully; aim to express ideas directly rather than relying on vague phrases such as “this development.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “because,” “while,” and “that,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, however. The opening sentence uses “schools taught” where a present-tense description is needed, and “I firmly agree to this view” has an incorrect preposition in its grammatical pattern. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in phrases such as “in a same school” and “the rate of girls feeling uncomfortable … increased as compared to the previous years.” Work on consistent tense, article use, and accurate clause formation. Proofreading these patterns will help you retain your varied sentence attempts while making the meaning more precise.
