Student answer (Band 5.5)

Education is crucial to achieve success in life for both girls and boys. However there are some institutions that are co-educational and some are single sex schools.I concur that some people believe in single sex schools nevertheless from my prespective I believe in co educational schools. On the one hand I believe co education gives learner more confidence to deal with all genders. We are living in an era where all genders work together in view to that co education boost confidence in learners from begining when they deal with each other from the young age. Moreover learners have a sense of sympathy and gender equality which makes them kind and having a friendly attitude towards each other.Learning in co educational schools from the begining when they are at the learning face make them more kind towards each other when they deal with other day to day.O n the other hand get education separately is not baad either.Particularly for parents it is protective environment for their children. However it is not much useful in todays world where competition is high in employment ,due to rise in poverty employment percentage is high regardless of gender.Everyone treated equally in all organisations so co educational schools are crucial to boost their abilities to understand gender personality and emotions. In conclusion those people who think girls and boys benefit from being educated separately is not useful in todays era where employment is necessary for both genders although they need to work together and deal with all sort of people whether girl or boy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall preference for co-educational schools and address the comparison by noting confidence, gender equality and a potentially protective environment in single-sex schools. These are relevant reasons, but they are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example. The point about employment and poverty is difficult to follow and does not clearly show why mixed schooling is beneficial. Your conclusion repeats your position but does not resolve this reasoning. The response is also 245 words, so it falls five words short of the required minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or example and ensure the response meets the minimum length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an identifiable overall shape: an introduction, a discussion of co-education, a contrast about single-sex schools, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, the progression within the body is difficult to follow: ideas about confidence, sympathy, employment and poverty are joined without clear explanation of how they connect. The contrast paragraph is also very brief, and the long final sentence combines several points. Organise the response into distinct paragraphs, give each paragraph one central idea, and use linking expressions to show the relationship between ideas rather than simply marking transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “co-educational,” “gender equality,” “protective environment” and “employment.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the issue. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. For example, “learning face” does not express the intended idea, and “understand gender personality and emotions” is imprecise. Spelling errors such as “prespective,” “begining” and “baad” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling; choose expressions that clearly describe the benefits you mean, such as social confidence or interaction between genders.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “although” and a reason introduced by “where.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors make some sentences hard to interpret. Examples include “co education gives learner more confidence,” “Everyone treated equally,” and the final sentence, where the subject and verb do not agree (“those people … is not useful”). Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, as in “boys. However” and “employment ,due.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and divide long sentences into shorter units. Aim to produce a wider range of sentence patterns while checking that each clause has a clear subject and verb.
