Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“I strongly disagree” that single-sex education is better—and briefly acknowledge that it has “some advantages.” This is relevant to the question, but the response only begins to explain those advantages (“boys might be more interested”) and does not complete the point or give a supporting example. More importantly, it does not develop reasons for your disagreement or compare the two types of school in a meaningful way. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so the task is addressed only minimally. To improve, explain at least two reasons for your view, support each with a specific example, and conclude by restating your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph gives your position, and the next begins with a concession, “Admittedly, there are some benefits.” The linking words “Firstly” and “While” also show an effort to connect ideas. However, the argument stops before a clear progression can develop, and the second paragraph ends mid-thought. The opening sentence is difficult to follow, while the repeated contrast introduced by “While” is not completed clearly. Use separate paragraphs for your position, each main reason, and the conclusion; make sure each paragraph develops one complete idea and use linking phrases to show how the points relate.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “single sex education,” “co education,” and “learning outcome,” and you attempt to express comparison and interest. However, spelling and word-choice problems make several phrases difficult to understand, such as “taugh in separated,” “comareed learing outcome,” and “intersted.” The phrase “in the better time in school” is also unclear and does not communicate a precise idea. Because the response is very short, there is little evidence of a wider range of vocabulary or flexible use. Check spelling carefully and choose accurate collocations; for example, refer to “single-sex schools” and “academic performance,” then use more precise terms to explain the benefits or drawbacks you mean.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a complex opening with “because” and “while,” and it includes a clear opinion in the clause “I strongly disagree.” These show some effort to use more than simple sentences. However, the opening sentence is not grammatically complete or clear, and the clause beginning “because” does not lead to a coherent explanation. The fragment “Firstly, in such school, teacher for example” also lacks a complete sentence, and the final phrase about boys being interested is left unfinished. These problems make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Build complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles and plural forms—for example, whether you mean “a teacher” or “teachers” and “such schools.”
