Student answer (Band 5.0)
Girls and boys are educated together in mixed schools in various parts of the world. Some people believe isolating their educational instituiton has higher benefits. I strongly disagree to this opinion.
One major resson that I support co-schooling both the genders together is that it allows them to understand different perspectives and learn from each other's experiences.Since they may have different ways of thinking, studying together can encourage them to exchange ideas, develeop their communication skills and respect each other's opinions. For instance, while doing a group project, they can share their ideas and thoughts making the project better rather than performing it alone which is more creative and may lead to better progress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
Your position is clear: “I strongly disagree” with educating students separately, and you give a relevant reason about learning from different perspectives. The group-project example also supports the value of collaboration. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it develops just one main benefit of mixed schooling and does not explain or weigh the claimed benefits of single-sex education. The example is brief, and the argument needs further explanation and support. The response is also 136 words below the required minimum, so it does not provide enough development to answer the question fully. To improve, add another distinct reason, explain each point in detail, and acknowledge a possible advantage of single-sex schools before explaining why you still disagree.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, understandable structure: an introduction states your view, followed by a paragraph giving a reason and an example. The sequence from different perspectives to communication skills and then a group project is generally logical. Linking phrases such as “One major reason” and “For instance” help signal the relationship between ideas. However, the response ends without a conclusion, and the single body paragraph contains several points that are not developed into a clear progression. The sentence beginning “Since they may have different ways of thinking” connects to the previous claim, but the relationship between sharing ideas and “better progress” could be made more explicit. Use separate paragraphs for distinct arguments and add a concluding summary to create a more complete line of development.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “different perspectives,” “exchange ideas,” “communication skills,” and “respect each other's opinions.” These phrases make your central argument clear. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “isolating their educational instituiton,” “co-schooling,” and “better progress.” There are also spelling errors, including “instituiton,” “resson,” and “develeop,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural expressions such as “single-sex education,” “mixed-sex schools,” and “academic progress.” Building a wider set of topic-specific terms and checking spelling would help you express the argument more fluently and accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms. For example, “Since they may have different ways of thinking, studying together can encourage them…” uses a subordinate clause effectively, and the group-project sentence adds an example. Most of the meaning remains understandable. However, there are errors in sentence construction and punctuation. In “I strongly disagree to this opinion,” the verb pattern is incorrect; write “disagree with this opinion.” There is also a missing space after the full stop in “experiences.Since,” and the final sentence has an unclear structure around “making the project better rather than performing it alone.” Separate and clarify this idea, for example: “Working together can improve the project and produce more creative results than working alone.” More accurate sentence patterns and punctuation would strengthen control.
