Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You address the topic by presenting both advantages of mixed schooling and reasons some people favour single-sex schools, and you state a position: co-education is “not a good thing especially, for girls.” However, the position is not consistently explained, and the discussion remains brief and incomplete. The example about Pakistan stops at “many boys,” so it does not support a complete point; the European example is also broad and not explained. The response contains 196 words, below the required 250, and 31 words copied from the prompt were excluded from that count. This limits the space available to develop reasons and examples. To improve, state your view clearly, explain each main reason, and complete relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “To begin with,” and a contrasting paragraph introduced by “On the other hand.” These markers help readers recognise the intended shift between arguments. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak: several points are listed without showing how they connect to the central position, and the final example is cut off. The introduction also says the essay will discuss whether co-education is “good or not,” which does not clearly preview the argument that follows. Some linking is repetitive, particularly the repeated references to “some people” and “good thing.” Organise each paragraph around one clear claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “co-educational,” “single-sex schools,” “skills,” and “arguments,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is basic and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, which makes parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “same schools system” and “being if educated separately” do not express the intended ideas clearly, while “create a good bonding with colegues” is an imprecise collocation. Spelling errors such as “middel,” “per ts,” “togehter,” and “Europen” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of accurate education-related phrases and check spelling; prefer precise expressions such as “develop social skills” or “learn in a focused environment.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with a few attempts to link clauses, as in “This is a good way to share their feelings, thoughts, and ideas.” There is some control of basic sentence patterns, but errors occur frequently and sometimes make the meaning unclear. For example, “Some time have small arguments between boys and girls” lacks a clear subject and has an incomplete verb structure; “If we end this system this thing is benefit for students” also has faulty clause construction and verb form. Punctuation is inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops and unnecessary commas. Practise complete subject–verb sentences first, then add accurate subordinate clauses. Check verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
