Student answer (Band 5.5)

In many parts of the world, it is trend to get education together in co-educational or mixed schools system but some people argue that it is necessary to keep boys and girls separated in single-sex schools. I strongly agree to latter opinion.

On the one hand, at the school level, students minds are not enough matured to understand good and bad things Because children shares their private matters unintentionally and this will lead to unwanted results. In our islam it is strictly prohibited to make getherings like this. For instance, if someone's sister or dauhgter goes to school and there she start liking anyone, by doing so they will loose focus on their studies. But on the other side if there are not enough teachers available at institute, in this situation there is only one option will be that is co-education.

Moreover, if there is a separated study system in which students study separately, in my opinion it is better rather than other because there is an institute near to my house where only boys study and after completing their studies many of them becomes engineers so if someone says that by only co-education system we can become educated, it will be an untruth reason. For example, Dr. tahir ul qadri who is an islamic scholar in pakistan, says that he even got education in a co-education system but never talked to any female and finally he completed his all studies by doing such behaviour.

According to my conclusion, I strongly support the second thought because it don't has any side effects and will be better for our society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you strongly support single-sex education. You also give reasons and examples, including concerns about students’ focus and the boys-only institute near your home. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because several points are asserted rather than explained. The claim that students may develop romantic interests, for example, is not supported with evidence showing why this makes separate schooling more beneficial. The religious argument is also presented as a rule rather than developed as a reason relevant to educational outcomes. The brief concession about teacher availability is not explored. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits of single-sex schooling more fully and address why mixed schools may still be effective.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can generally follow your main position. You use signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Moreover” and “According to my conclusion.” However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven: the point about teacher availability appears suddenly, and the second body paragraph shifts from a local example to a public figure without clearly connecting them. Some linking phrases are used mechanically or do not express the relationship accurately, such as “But on the other side.” Pronouns and references such as “this” and “such behaviour” are not always precise. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain and support it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your general argument, including “co-educational,” “single-sex schools,” “institute” and “studies.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “it is trend to get education together,” “students minds are not enough matured,” and “it will be an untruth reason.” Spelling errors such as “dauhgter” and “getherings” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common academic collocations and check word forms and spelling. More precise language would help you explain educational benefits and drawbacks rather than relying on broad claims about “good and bad things” or “side effects.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure beginning “if there are not enough teachers available.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “students minds are not enough matured” has problems with possession, adjective form and sentence structure, while “children shares” has subject–verb disagreement. Other examples include “there is only one option will be” and “it don't has,” which show problems with clause construction and verb forms. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected subordinate clause, then check agreement and verb forms.
