Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the present era, education department has modernized and students get education together in a single room.some people believe girls and boys should not sit together, although they shouldbe in separate classrooms, each gender in each class.I stronglly agree with this opinion because there are couple of reasons such as students feel hesitation and teacher could be able to explain completely sepcially in medical subjects.

To begin with, when students sit in the same classroom, they do not ask any question from their teacher about the topic. In fact, girls feel more hesitation when they try to ask anything from their teacher. For instance,if any student want to know more about the topic but due to different gender classmates could not be able to ask a single word from the teacher.Furthermore,it will have detrimental effect on the study of the students as well and could be lead to low grades in their exams.

In addition, teacher also feel hesitation infront of mixed gender class and could not able to deliver lecture completely.Sometime, teacher want to explain deeply about the topic they only cover the basic syllabus. For Instance,if a male teacher is teaching to gender of male class, then he can deliver lecture easily because they know well about the each other, however in the mixed class he has to be much aware before explaination to the class.

To sum up,schools and colleges should arrange separate class for each gender. So,teachers and students could easily teach and learn in the classrooms without any hesitation.A different gender teacher can not understand the nature of different gender students.Due to which, male students should be teach by male and girls by the female.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly support single-sex education, and you give two relevant reasons—students may feel less hesitant to ask questions, and teachers may feel more comfortable explaining topics. The examples about asking questions and teaching medical subjects help connect your argument to the task. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the reasons are asserted more than explained. For example, the claim that teachers cannot deliver a full lesson to a mixed class needs a clearer explanation or a specific, credible example. The final claim that students should be taught by a teacher of the same gender is introduced without support and is not fully connected to your main reasons. Develop each point and acknowledge a possible benefit of mixed schools before explaining why you disagree.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “To begin with” and “In addition,” and a concluding paragraph. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. You also use linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Furthermore,” and “To sum up.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and several links do not make the relationship between ideas clear. For example, “For instance” is followed by a general hypothetical situation rather than a specific example, while “Due to which” does not clearly connect the final claim to the preceding sentence. Some ideas are repeated, particularly the claim that students and teachers feel hesitation. Use clearer references and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to education and argument, including “co-educational,” “detrimental effect,” “syllabus,” and “low grades.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make parts of the argument difficult to follow. Examples include “ask any question from their teacher,” “different gender classmates,” and “deliver lecture completely.” Spelling errors such as “stronglly,” “sepcially,” and “explaination” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and precise terms, such as “ask the teacher a question,” “classmates of the opposite sex,” and “explain the material fully.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “although,” “when,” “if,” and “because.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “if any student want” needs subject–verb agreement, while “could be lead” has an incorrect verb form. In “students should be teach,” the passive construction is not formed correctly. There are also run-on sentences, such as the opening sentence, where several ideas are joined without appropriate punctuation. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine them using correctly formed clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
