Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many girls and boys are educated together in co-educational or mixed schools in different parts of the world. Some people believe that both girls and boys benefit from being educated seperately in uni-sex schools. I partilally agree with this point of view because it some times benefit people and may harm their culture and traditions.
People who think that girls and boys benefit from being educated seperately are right. By seperate studies them may feel free to do anything in their classroom, talk to eachother, enjoy a lot, and also boys group conversation. It is more beneficial because, in single-sex schools girls feel more save and can also free from any cultural disadvantage. In schools which are only for boys, boys can consentrate more on studies rather than other enjoyment activities. For example; In our country majority of position holders belong to single-sex schools, since they get more facilities than co-educational schools.
Co-educational system is also good, students can do numerious projects and assignments together. Boys who are weak in studies can get help from intelligent girls or topper boys. They can do a research together and can also help each other in any difficult aspect of life. In many europe counries, co-education is popular because there are more facilities and they also focuses on practical learning. Boys and girls work together on projects and get success. For example; People from our countires go abroad for higher studies because they have mixed school system, which may helps them to achieve their future career goals easily.
Acoording to me, in some aspects it is good or in some it is bad because everything has benefits also has disadvantages. So, co-education and single-sex have some advantages and disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and state a position with “I partially agree,” then discuss possible benefits of single-sex and co-educational schools. The examples about position holders and students working together are relevant, but they are broad and do not clearly demonstrate how these outcomes result from the school type. Your position also becomes less definite in the conclusion, which says both systems have advantages and disadvantages without clarifying the extent of your agreement. The claim that single-sex education may “harm their culture and traditions” is introduced but not explained. To strengthen the response, develop fewer points with specific reasoning and examples, and maintain a clear, consistent answer to how far you agree.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for single-sex schools, one for co-education, and a conclusion. This makes the two sides easy to identify. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “According to me” help signal the purpose of some sentences. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the single-sex paragraph moves from classroom freedom to safety, concentration, and position holders without fully connecting these points. Some references, such as “they” in “By separate studies them,” are difficult to follow, and the conclusion largely repeats the general idea that both systems have advantages and disadvantages. Clearer links between each claim and its explanation would make the organisation more coherent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “co-educational,” “single-sex schools,” “assignments,” and “practical learning,” so the reader can follow the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make expression imprecise. Examples include “seperately,” “uni-sex,” “more save,” “position holders,” and “numerious projects.” Phrases such as “other enjoyment activities” and “difficult aspect of life” are also vague or unnatural in context. Aim to learn accurate collocations for education and use them consistently; proofreading spelling and choosing more precise terms would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause in “schools which are only for boys.” This shows some variety, but control is uneven, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “By separate studies them may feel free” is not a well-formed sentence, while “they also focuses” has a subject–verb agreement error and “which may helps them” uses an incorrect verb form. The final sentence, “everything has benefits also has disadvantages,” also needs clearer clause structure. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, then check agreement and verb forms.
