Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many countries co-educational system and mixed schools are becoming increasingly popular for having several social benefits. Although, some people believe that, it is better to teach boys and girls in separate educational institutions for multiple reasons. In my opinion, boys are girls can be taught in the same educational institution by strictly maintaining certain social norms and restrictions.

In modern world, male and female are equally participating in the work forces in every sectors. In order to train themselves for a co-working environment, we must introduce co-learning to our future generations from early school levels. Moreover, while studying in a co-educational system, boys and girls learn to respect and help each other. In addition, in the process of co-learning, equal educational facilities can be provided to individual students regardless of their genders. By learning side by side in the school, a respectful and cooperative socity can be created where both men and women can contribute equally for country's development.

However, certain boundaries and social norms should be maintained in co-educational systems. First of all, the safety of female students should be ensured in every aspects. For example, harassements in classroom from the male counterparts in the school premises can have permanent detrimental effects on the academic career of a female student. In addition, without the assurance of protection, parents are sometimes restricted to send their girls to a mixed school. Government should take proper steps so that female students from different background can receive the education in school level without affecting their religious values.

To conclude, avoiding a co-educational or mixed schools can never be the solution to certain problems that can affect social or religious values. We have to ensure a healthy environment in the school levels so that both boys and girls can receive the education they deserve without hurting the religious perspective of the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you favour co-education, provided that appropriate safeguards and social norms are maintained. You address both the benefits of mixed schooling and concerns about safety and religious values, with relevant points about workplace preparation, mutual respect, and harassment. This covers the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits are listed more than explained, and the safety example is not followed by specific measures that would address it. The conclusion restates your view but could draw together the reasons more precisely. To strengthen the response, explain how co-education builds practical cooperation and give concrete examples of protections, such as reporting procedures or supervision, while clarifying why these are preferable to separate schools.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present benefits and concerns, and a conclusion returns to your position. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “To conclude” help identify the stages of the argument. At times, however, the linking feels mechanical, and some connections between claims are not fully explained. For example, the move from equal facilities to national development is abrupt, while the safety paragraph shifts from harassment to parental restrictions and religious values without showing how these points relate. Develop clearer links between each claim and its consequence, and use referencing or transitions that show the relationship between ideas rather than simply announcing another point.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “co-educational system,” “work force,” “detrimental effects,” and “religious values.” These choices make the main argument clear, and you attempt some more formal expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “co-working environment,” “individual students regardless of their genders,” and “receive the education in school level.” Spelling errors such as “socity” and “harassements” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully; for instance, use “workplace environment,” “regardless of gender,” and “receive an education at school.” This would make your vocabulary more precise without requiring unnecessarily complex words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“so that female students… can receive the education”) and a concession in the introduction. Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. Examples include “boys are girls” instead of “boys and girls,” “male and female are equally participating” instead of a more accurate plural construction, and “in every sectors,” where the noun should be singular or the determiner changed. Articles and prepositions also need attention in phrases such as “in modern world” and “in school level.” Punctuation is inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops. Review agreement, articles, and preposition patterns, then proofread sentence boundaries; this will improve control while preserving your attempts at complex sentences.
