Student answer (Band 5.5)
in this modern era, girls and boys are studying alongside each other in co-educational institutions. however some people argue that students benefit more from being educated in gender specific school. i partially agree with this statement, as both edicational environment have their own advantages and disadvantages.
To commence with, if students of both gender will study in same school it has some merits. First and foremost, it helps to develop mutual respect to each other students understand and respect different perespectives. Along with this, it also promotes gender equality girls and boys get equal opportunities which helps them in their later life also as they avoid to do gender discrimination in their workplace. Moreover, students motivate each other to perform better academically. Also, they learn teamwork which helps in future workplaces. it builds confidence of students as they become more comfortable interacting with the opposite gender. which also improves communication skills of both genders. male and female learn to communicate confidently with each other. which also helps in thier studies or group assignments to share each others ideas and contribution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you partially agree that single-sex education can be beneficial, but conclude that co-education is more valuable today. You address both sides with relevant points, including fewer distractions in single-sex schools and equality, teamwork and communication in mixed schools. However, the discussion is uneven: the co-education benefits receive several points, while the single-sex case is brief and its claims are not supported with examples or explanation. For instance, you say students may feel more comfortable asking questions, but do not explain why or illustrate this. Develop each main reason with a specific example and make your degree of agreement consistent from the introduction through the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two types of schooling, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To commence with” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint. Within the body paragraphs, however, ideas are often added in a list rather than developed in a clear sequence. Several sentences beginning “which” are fragments, and the repeated use of “also” makes connections feel mechanical. The single-sex paragraph would benefit from a clearer progression from the claim about fewer distractions to its consequences. Use complete sentences, group related points, and add linking explanations so that each paragraph builds its argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “co-educational institutions,” “gender equality,” “peer pressure,” “classroom participation” and “communication skills.” These terms make the subject clear, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “mutual respect to each other,” “gender specific school” and “do gender discrimination.” Spelling errors, including “perespectives,” “additon” and “belive,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general expressions with precise terms, while ensuring they fit the sentence, would make your vocabulary more flexible and effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“if students of both gender will study in same school”) and clauses explaining consequences. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement occur across the response. For example, “students can concentrates” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “it reduce peer pressure” needs a matching verb form. Several clauses beginning “which” are not complete sentences, and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles and plural forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
