Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary era, it is an irrefutable fact that social circle plays a crucial role in upbringing of ones. At some places male and females should be educated within co-educational campus has become a subject of considerable debate. Few believes that learning must be done separately. I completely disagree with this statement and acknowledge that learning should be practised with opposite genders because it provides you exposure and confidence since your early childhood. This essay will discuss advantages of co-educational schooling.

According to me, firstly, a male or female individual can enhance their learning journey by sharing and using experience of each other. It is an undeniable fact that society behaviour towards a boy or a girl is far different. In past, women's were only meant to cook food and reproduce, but nowadays where feminism is common and got possible because of gender equality. Secondly, in some remote areas, females are only allowed to step outside their homes with any male presence, the reason behind this to protect the social image of mens within society. In past time period male was known as a protector of his dependent females, if he fails to protect them, was not considered a responsible person. Therefore, in order to maintain gender equality girls should also get equal chance to acquire knowledge as of boys.

Apart from this, there are few jobs which can be performed in a better way by women as compared to men. This can lead to new job openings and eventually result in economy enhancement. Moreover, girls are known as a good communicator, so if a female is representing a nation or a position can assist in global connectivity.

In conclusion, in my opinion education can be the most efficient way to maintain gender equality. Thus, education must be given to all genders, and if provided together will help for better results. This will effect social awareness, standard of living and cultural exchange.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you disagree with single-sex education and support educating boys and girls together. You give relevant reasons, including shared learning, gender equality, and preparation for work and communication. However, the response only partly develops the specific comparison in the question: it explains benefits of co-education but does not directly consider why some students might benefit from single-sex schools or qualify your position. Several claims, such as women being better communicators or suited to certain jobs, are broad and lack a concrete example or explanation. To strengthen the response, connect each reason explicitly to how mixed schooling benefits students and support the claims with a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate the main points, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” show how ideas are related. However, progression is not consistently clear: the discussion moves from shared learning to historical gender roles, then to remote communities and employment without fully explaining the links. Some transitions feel mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the general position rather than drawing together the reasons. Use clearer topic sentences and develop one central idea at a time; make the connection between each example and the argument explicit so the reader can follow the reasoning more easily.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “gender equality,” “social awareness,” “cultural exchange,” and “global connectivity.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, the range is not always controlled, and several unnatural or inaccurate expressions make parts of the argument harder to understand, such as “upbringing of ones,” “economy enhancement,” and “a male presence.” Some word forms and collocations are also awkward, including “society behaviour” and “got possible.” Aim for precise, natural combinations rather than formal-sounding phrases. Reusing clear terms such as “students,” “mixed schools,” and “equal opportunities” would help communicate your ideas more reliably.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur frequently. For example, “Few believes” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “if a female is representing a nation or a position can assist” lacks a clear grammatical connection between its clauses. The sentence beginning “In past, women's were only meant…” also contains several grammatical problems. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately using subordinate clauses. Check that every clause has a clear subject and verb and that singular and plural forms agree.
