Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the graph, such as the high rates in the USA and the low rates in Korea. However, the analysis is hampered by a misunderstanding of the data labels; you refer to 'production overweight' throughout, which is inaccurate as the graph measures 'overweight rates' in populations. Furthermore, the description of the trends is somewhat vague, and the grouping of countries is not fully supported by specific data points. To improve, ensure you accurately identify the subject of the graph and provide more precise data comparisons between the countries mentioned.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the transition 'followed by it also has least of lessthan 50%'. The logical progression between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the final paragraph where the description of England and France feels repetitive and lacks clear linking words. Improving the variety and accuracy of your transition signals will help the flow of your writing significantly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, with the phrase 'production overweight' used incorrectly throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'possed with stable incriment' and 'moved slowly'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the persistent misuse of terminology prevent a higher score. You should focus on using more accurate academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', or 'upward trend'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include missing articles ('the' United States), incorrect verb forms ('is improved'), and punctuation errors. For example, 'England was moved slowly' should be 'England's rate increased slowly'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would greatly enhance the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
