IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The line graph below shows past and current overweight rates, as well as a projected future overweight rate in nine selected countries.

Summarise the infonnation by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given line graph illustrates the past and present overweight rates. It also showing a projected future rate in some selected countries. These countries are typically refer as OECD.

Initially, we can see that after a short decline, USA has experiencing a continuous increasement up to 75 per cent which is higher than all other eight countries. England got second position after USA in graph. it has maximum 60 per cent proportion in 2020. All other countries such as Spain, Canada, Austria, France and Italy have below 50 per cent of proportion rate in same year. Beside these countries, Korea is only one country in graph which rate was below 30 per cent before 2000. In upcoming twenty years, it crossed barely 35 per cent of its overweight proportion.
