IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The line graph below shows past and current overweight rates, as well as a projected future overweight rate in nine selected countries.

Summarise the infonnation by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Past and projected future overweight rates in selected OECD countries

Student answer (Band 6.0)

the line graph illustrates information on previous and present overweight rates as while the future projected rate.

The USA has highest rate, while other counites have uneven line graph with Korea being the least in all of the times.

USA has over 40% overweight in 1970 making one of the highest, it maintained a steady from late 1970's and kept being the highest amount all of the countries till 2020.

Canada showed a similar graph to USA it had downward trend for a decade then it only kept growing.

Both England and Spain started above 40% and fell a bit after 2000's but they regained back it by 2020's

Austria, Italy and France showed similar graphs like they all started low but by the end of 2020, they all were projected to be very close of 40%.

Unlike other countries Australia started lower part of the graph and projected highest increase rate by the 2020 it will be above 60%.

Korea has least and lowest in past and present overweight while also being way later to began comparatively to other countries.
