Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response provides a general overview and selects some key features, such as the high rates in the USA and lower rates in Korea. However, the task requires a summary of nine countries, and you have only mentioned four. By omitting five countries entirely, you fail to provide a comprehensive overview of the data. Furthermore, there are inaccuracies in data interpretation; for instance, you state Austria's percentage 'dropped' to 45% in 2020, whereas the graph shows an upward trend. To improve, ensure you group the countries logically to cover all data points and verify your readings of the graph axes and trends.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by the lack of a clear structure for comparing the nine countries. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Analyzing the data further' and 'Finally', but they are somewhat mechanical. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between ideas feels disjointed. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus, such as grouping countries by their projected growth or current status.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'initial year', 'final year', and 'fraction'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'displayed continuous soar' and 'showed escalate'. Using more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'upward trajectory', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable', would significantly enhance the quality of your writing. You should aim to vary your word choices to avoid repetition and improve the sophistication of your descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the obesity problem will be more common in USA' (missing article 'the'), 'in it future it shows fluctuation' (incorrect preposition and pronoun usage), and 'reached at 75%' (unnecessary preposition). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions, and try to incorporate a wider range of complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
