Overall, all nine nations show an upward trajectory in overweight rates over the 50-year period. The USA consistently maintains the highest proportion throughout, whereas Korea continuously records the lowest figure.
In 1970, the USA had the highest rate at approximately 47%, which dipped slightly around 1980 before climbing steadily to exceed 60% by 2000 and reaching a projected peak of roughly 74% in 2020. England and Canada follow a similar dramatic rise. England's rate starts around 30% in 1970, overtaking Canada around 2000, and is forecasted to reach near 68% by 2020.
