IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The line graph below shows past and current overweight rates, as well as a projected future overweight rate in nine selected countries.

Summarise the infonnation by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Past and projected future overweight rates in selected OECD countries

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The graph illustrates about past and current overweight rates as well as future predicted overweight rate in different countries those are nine in number. The X axis shows the yearly discussion of overwieght rate happens in past and is also projected in future. And Y-axis shows proportion overnight in percentages. The yearly data for USA gives an overview of decrease in overweight rate from 1970 to 1980 and then it raised from 45% to 80% in 2020.But for Austria it remains cosnstant from 1980 to 1990 as of 42% and then there is sudden increase in the years of 2000 to 2010. then there fluctuation is noticed from 2010 to 2020 in overweight rates noticed in past and is predicted for future. For korea there has been exceptional rise and fall noticed in 2000 to 2010. As graph shows korea has not faced overweight rate issues before 2000 that is signicantly different from the all other countries but is relative similar to italy.
