Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response provides a clear overview of the main trends, identifying the USA as the highest and Korea as the lowest. However, the task achievement is limited by inaccurate data reporting. For instance, stating the USA reached 73% in the 'last year' (2020) is inaccurate based on the graph, and the mention of '220' for England is a clear typo. Furthermore, the analysis of the data is somewhat superficial; while it mentions some countries, it fails to provide a comprehensive comparison of the projected future rates as requested by the prompt. The summary is present, but the selection of key features lacks precision and consistency.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a logical progression from the overview to specific country details. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'At a fleeting glance' and 'Moving further'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences feels disjointed in the latter half of the essay. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the internal flow of ideas needs more sophisticated linking words to achieve a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of incorrect word forms or collocations, such as 'sharply boost at 73%' (should be 'sharply increased to 73%') and 'showed significantly grown' (should be 'showed significant growth'). The range of vocabulary is limited to basic descriptive terms. To improve, you should focus on using more precise verbs and nouns to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'plateaued', or 'a marginal increase', rather than relying on repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'The data has been calibrated in percentage' (should be 'percentages'), 'in 220' (likely a typo for 2020), and 'In early of 1990' (should be 'In the early 1990s'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band level.
