Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, including the overall trend and specific data points for the countries mentioned. You successfully identified the USA as the highest and Korea as the lowest, which is a key requirement. However, the report lacks a clear, analytical overview of the data, and some figures are presented in a list-like fashion without sufficient comparison. To improve, ensure you group countries by their trends (e.g., those with sharp increases versus those that remained stable) rather than listing them individually. The inclusion of projected data is handled well, but ensure the distinction between past and future is consistently clear.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For instance, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and there is a lack of linking words to connect the data points within the paragraphs. Some sentences are run-on, and the punctuation is inconsistent, such as the missing spaces after periods and the use of underscores in '37_43%'. Improving the flow between sentences using transition signals like 'similarly' or 'in contrast' would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'increased', 'steadily', and 'consistently'. However, there are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'ilustrate', 'overwight', 'koera', 'steadly', and 'receptively'. These errors are distracting and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary (e.g., 'a gradual rise' instead of 'more gradually rise') and ensure that your spelling is accurate. The vocabulary is sufficient for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that affect the clarity of the text. Examples include missing articles ('the USA', 'the government rate'), subject-verb agreement issues, and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'moderate increased' instead of 'moderate increases'). Furthermore, the lack of proper spacing after punctuation marks makes the text difficult to read. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic sentence structure and article usage.
